As you are a beginner, I'd suggest that you need to buy a book on this. Configuring IIS properly is a complex topic in its own right, and really depends on what you are trying to achieve with the site. Nobody is going to post an answer to a question here with a detailed step by step description, that's not what the forums are for.

I'd remove your e-mail from your signature ASAP: spammers have bots that trawl pages looking for e-mail addresses. If you don't remove it you'll get tonnes of spam.

Hi All,
Can anyone help me out to find any free dll for asymmetric encryption for larger (non plain text like zip files, pdf's etc.) data. Currently availble classes in .NET for asymetric encryption is limited to plain text ( not more than 100 bytes) data only.
My need is to encrypt/decrypt larger zip(of pdf fies) data in Asymmetric method.

Any suggestions is appreciated.

Oddball ASP.NET TreeView / CSS problem

Hi guys,

Have an issue with an asp.net Treeview control, for which some nodes are being populated on demand. I have 2 styles defined, one for SelectedNodeStyle-CssClass and one for NodeStyle-CssClass

The problem I have is that when rendered, the nodes have an additional style added, so rather than class="standardNode", I'm actually getting class="standardNode ASPNet_Treeview2".....

This in and of itself isn't a huge issue - the nodes "look ok"....however, some are populated on demand when expanded - for the newly added nodes, the additional style is omitted, meaning I end up with class="standardNode"......so my nodes look different...

I've googled myself dry on this one - anybody have any clues or ideas for a workaround - come on, don't be shy - any idea will be considered!

C# has already designed away most of the tedium of C++.

Firstly it's a good idea to post a css problem question on the css forum there are experts who visit that forum and can answer this question in a split second.
Either way, i don't seem to understand your question, what are the CssClass names for:
- SelectedNodeStyle-CssClass
- NodeStyle-CssClass

A quick fix would be to see what styling ASPNet_Treeview2 has and include that on your standardNode.

Hi,

We have an application which runs on a number of configuration tables, kept in oracle database.
Often we need to move selective data from development server to UAT or production servers.
This work is done manually hence error prone.
Can anyone suggest the best way to automate this process.
Will it help to build a tool, may be in LINQ or ADO.NET Entity Framework.

Kindly do give your suggestions.

If you want to add for example missing row to database2 from database1 could you simply do this by creating a database link and then using SQL?

Something like (at database2):

SQL

INSERT INTO TableName
(Col1, Col2...)
SELECT Col1, Col2...
FROM (SELECT Col1, Col2...
      FROM TableName@Database1
      MINUS
      SELECT Col1, Col2...
      FROM TableName)

Of course you possibly have different kinds of conditions etc.

There is a tool from red-gate software called SQL Compare that does this task. we use it for moving data between sql server. it is available for Oracle as well i guess.

Option 1: Is to use a page redirect.

Option 2:
Use a javascript client side timeout to then do a page navigate.

I am trying to insert and delete row from the girdview but I unable to retrieve the value of textbox which I have put on the footer row

the code is following

each time I am getting the value of strEmpName="" while I entering the value for insertion

I am planning to build an ASP.NET Server Control which is having a timer control for some time-by-time processing. I am not much aware of ASP.NET Server Control.

I have also followed Creating Serverside Clock Control Using ASP.NET Ajax and C#[^], but its not triggering timer Tick code.

I am using the following code:

HI,

I have a database driven chat room which refreshes after every 10 sec. If the user is typing some thing on the chat box teh page refreshes and focus is set to the start of chat textbox. i want to set the focus on teh right where the user is currently typoing e.g if page refreshes and he has already typed Hell, then focus should be after l, not from start.

The standard technique for doing this is actually quite different. When you perform your refresh, you don't actually refresh everything on the page - what you do, instead, is refresh only certain parts of the screen. Using AJAX you retrieve the data you need and then you update the small areas of the screen that have changed. This leaves the textbox untouched, and the user can carry on without having focus flash around on them.
