I left Occam for 9 months, encountered utter hell at two companies during that time and was then offered work contracting for Occam again. Was a no-brainer although I'm not doing WPF right now, lots of ASP.NET, IIS and SQL. I really want to find a WPF contract after this one ends.

Don't be surprised at the lack of WPF jobs out there... it seems pretty rare to me. I was looking for a new gig cuz I was tiring of my current one and only saw 2 or 3 wpf ads over 6 months. People are still on MFC / Winforms, or just scrapping desktop and going web only. Guess I'll stick around then since I'm 100% WPF now  .

In my main siilverlight page, there is a hyperlink button which if clicked shows a child page. i.e.
private void hypShowPage_Click(object sender, RoutedEventArgs e)
{
childwindowname p = new childwindowname ();
p.Show();
}
Question:
Once, the ok button is clicked on th echild window page, I would like to refresh the
existing page (Main page).
How is this done please?

This is wrong, you need to refresh the DATA not the page. Presumably the child window changes some data and closes, you need to trap the close operation (I use a message pump) and refresh the data source (in you main VM/Codebehind) affected by the childwindow. As the data should be bound with onpropertychange events the xaml will automatically refresh.

I have to disable the date which is less than current day when the user click on the calendar control, could u tell me how to do it...

I never work with wpf but can't you just use the DateChanged event?
Show a messagebox if the date is less then today and reset it (the date) to today.

Hi,
I am using Telerik RadGridView with with ShowInsertRow property set to true. After user inserts data into this row RowValidating and EditRowEnded events are fired. How can I lock InsertRow to be visible(RadGridView is in InsertMode) until data is not valid? Should I do it in RowValidating or EditRowEnded events?

Normally, when you have a problem with a commercial vendors product, it is customary to ask a question in the support forums there. They will generally be able to answer questions far faster than here about their products.

I have a requirement to reuse a main form if a modal dialog. So I thought I'd simply put a NavigateFrame in the body of the dialog

AccountTreeDLG is the urimapper entry pointing to the usercontrol.
It seems the Navigation frame will only allow the parent form to be displayed. Has anyone run up against this.

Hi ,
I have a wpf app , which has Custom UserCtrl(name it as CustomCursor) for mouse(looks like Hand symbol), so by moving the CustomCursor with feed of x,y points , CustomCursor wil be rendered in the Main window(which has a stackPanel loaded with Border and intern with Image control).
I have written mouseEnter/mouseLeave handlers for border . So when CustomCursor moves on Border, thru hittest i call the MouseEnter handler for border. But I couldnt able to identify mouseLeave for border. As I need to select and deselect each border when the cursor is on/off of the border.
Can someone throw some lights on how to find mouseLeave using hittest in case of border.

I have a problem of saving files using Save file dialog.I'm using Silverlight 3.Recently I had upgraded my machine to vista sp2.But in that i cannot see any of my files getting saved when i use savefiledialog.It was working earlier before upgrading.This happens only with silverlight application alone.
Its an inbrowser application.Can anyone tell me wat cud be the reason.

Try disabling UAC and then try again.
The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realise it doesn't say anything it's too late to stop reading it.

I tried this option but didn't work for me.One thing i noticed was that the file got created and gets deleted immediately with 0 KB. I even tried uninstalling silverlight runtime and installing but no option.
Is it any issue with any vista sp2 patches ?

My list collection is populated with rows. Each row has fields...
The datagrid only shows the first row in the list.
Note that the datagrid.itemsSource does have the rows but only the first row is shown in the datagrid.
Do you knoiw why please?

What is in your collection? A
DataTable
DataRow or a custom DataRow object. What data grid are you using?
I wouldn't bind a DataRow to a data grid in WPF ... have a look into MVVM.

could the values for the first row is valid data and did u set datacontext property of the grid?

I am starting the task of creating a analysis program which takes feedback from a customer, kind of like a survey. I will be making this from scratch as was wondering as to what software development kit I should work with. I was wondering if I use ASP.net then do I also need something like VisualBasic.net to create the application, or does ASP.net posses everything I need?

Your question indicates a total lack of knowledge about the field. I strongly suggest you get a "how to" book on .net programming (possibly a for dummies one may be useful) and start working through it. Make sure you get the most basic one you can find as then it will not make any assumptions on your knowledge level.

ASP.Net is a set of technologies. Visual Studio, using either C# or VB.Net, is an integrated development environment and toolset for working with ASP.Net technologies. I recommend some of the beginner tutorials. You can build ASP.Net applications using the free Visual Studio Express editions, specifically Visual Web Developer, and use SQL Server Express for your database, all free of charge and with much of the same power as the full versions, at least at the level you'll be starting out. I recommend a site like www.LearnDevNow.com or any of the lovely tutorials found at www.asp.net to familiarize yourself with all of the tools.

Hi,
I have a Combobox control in my application, where i need to display multiple data from code like "Value","function" and etc.
can u tell me how to create it in a code..
and if the user select "Value" from that combobox item, i have to display a text box next to that combobox in my WPF application, or else if the user select "Function" from that combobox, it has to display an text box and combobox next to that combobox in the application, but i have to create this control programmatically..
So will u tell me, how can i do this.. any example will be more helpfull...
