I found it by going to John's profile -> Tips & Tricks submission list to find it.
I was going to check if it was visible to me at all, which it was there, but I didn't look on the front page.
I wasn't, now I am, then I won't be anymore.

Yeah, it shows up in the reputation stuff, and I can see it in my list of Tips, but it's *not* on the CP front page of recently submitted Tips.

The tip/trick shows as published 6 hours ago, but the homepage says "2 hours ago". Though the last edit to the tip/trick was 2 hours ago. It seems that edit made it visible on the homepage for some reason.

If a comment is replied to, there's a notification sent to the parent comment's poster as well as to the associated answer's poster. If the answer and the parent comment are by the same member, he gets two notification emails. Could a check be put in place to ensure that when the two member ids are the same, only one email is sent? Thanks.
Here's an example from just now where I got 2 emails:
1) subjected: A reply was posted to your comment
2) subjected: A reply has been posted to a comment

Yes. The SMTP protocol is past its best-by date.
We've rejigged a bunch of things to try and make other email servers believe we're not the bad guys. Some of this seems to be working.

Posting comments on an article's forum is not the same as reporting an article (the latter done by clicking on the red flag at the top of the article). In fact, answering posts made on an article's forum is solely done at the author's discretion. If he doesn't want to answer, there's no rule that says he has to. Similarly, there's no rule that says the author has to update his article, even when problems are reported. Finally, if you notice that the last post the author made (in 2008) was the same year the article was published, then the reasonable conclusion is that the author won't be answering posts anymore.
In any case, unless the article has violated one of the site no-no's, the CP editors aren't responsible for its contents, and won't take action. You, on the other hand, may request the CP editors to declare the article as "abandoned", take ownership yourself, and fix the mistakes, and post the update. Or you can just make the changes and post the update as a new article, referring to the old article.
To sum up, what you are complaining about is neither a site bug nor a suggestion that will be acted upon (the CP editors cannot force anyone to update their article). Therefore, your post in this forum is itself inappropriate.
Please remove this post. If you want to follow up, take action as I noted above.

I am sorry I didn't mention that I reported the article, selected the reason as others and provided proper comments there.

I do realise that the last message by the author was made in 2008. I also understand that changes will be made by an author on his discretion and that's why I reported the article.

CP is a community, not just a place to post articles. It's important to understand what the CP editors can do for us, and what we must do ourselves. Only in very rare situations will the CP editors substantially modify the contents of an article. This is normal and expected; how can we expect them to understand every topic in sufficient detail to evaluate what you're saying?
Reporting an article has nothing to do with technical mistakes. In fact, if you hover over the red flag, you will see the tip "Report this article as inappropriate". That's not the case here, and it's no wonder why the CP editors didn't act on your report. "Inappropriate" in the context of an article means that it's total crap; that it's been plagiarized; or that it is offensive in some way. If the article is none of these, then you shouldn't click the report button.

That's a very valid point but I feel the issues with the content there was explained very well with MSDN links to the correct information.

I am sorry but I don't agree with that. If there is an incorrect information in an article, that must be first reported to the author and if he/she doesn't correct it I feel it shoud be reported to the editor with comprehensive details and references.
I also must tell you that I have already asked couple of mentors (whom I know personally) to modify it but they do not have the sufficient rights to do it.
