Well, ok I refreshed my reputation ( still new and shiny ) and it had gone down by 2 points. But I could have sworn my Enquirer rep went down, not my Authority. So I looked at the FAQ and there seems to be an error: for Authority you get +5 or -2 for an up or down vote on a question and for Enquirer you get +5 or -2 for an up or down vote on an answer. Surely this is the wrong way around? It's the other ( correct ) way around for forum questions and answers. Also, don't you get anything for having your answer accepted?
