I implement a complex application in WM6.5
I would like to implement a CSS-like layer in order to have a standardization for the GUIs of the corresponding components of the application.
Is it supported from .NET CE?
I need something like Stylesheet xml-like file (StylesSheetManager - A 'CSS like component' for WinForms[^] )

Hi,
We need a custom build program for a Nokia 6310i basically this will need to send SMS's and calls out we have got a previous program similar to the one we need to for a Nokia 6210.
Anyone with experience in FBUS/AT commands should easily be able to complete this project.

hi all,
i want to restart the Window mobile after the successfully installation of my application.
For install the application, i create the cab file which install the application on device. this cab works well. but i also want to restart the system
so Please suggest how can i restart the device.

Hi all,
Someone know how to retrive the system name of the Storage Card?
This is because often changig the WM version or the localization of the device, can also change the name of the Storage Card (with cosequence of the "Path not found" error in the program).

The System.IO.DirectoryInfo object can be used to get a list of all directories. Storage Cards will have this attribute: System.IO.FileAttributes.Temporary.

Hi all
I am trying to develop a VOIP application on WinCE. And as
first step i am trying to record and play the recorded audio
simultaneously on the device.
To achieve this i am creating 2 threads one to capture audio
and store it in a MessageQueue and the other thread would
fetch the stored audio packet from the MessgaeQueue and play
it.
So far i have been able to record and play the audio but the
problem is the quality of the audio. There is lot of noice
while playing the audio. I dont know just by storing it in
the messgae queue how is this noise is getting introduced. I
have tried to write the output in a file and play it at some
later time and it works just fine.
I am using the same sampling rate for recording and playing.
Capturing PCM
Mono channel
8 Khz Samples per second
16 bits per sample
What could be the reason for noise, is the mechanism i am
using correct or there is some other better way.
Any help is really appreciated.

Hi folks!
I do have an "Windows Mobile 5" device that runs a software that is trying to connect to a server in our network.
When starting the software and connecting via IP-address everything works within a second.
But we need to use the hostname of the server as the IP-address may change.
So i built in a "DNS.GetHostEntry"-call to get the IPEndPoint i need to connect.
When running the software the first time after reboot the DNS-Lookup takes between 20 and 30 seconds, which is way to long.
(btw. when entering a URL in the device´s Internet Explorer is way faster!)
Is there a way to speed up this query?

When I use "Add a new Data Source" to add my database to my application I
get the message "Could not retrieve schema information for table or view..."
after I click Finish to Choosing the Database Objects (tables).
In "Data Sources" I see the tables in the database but I cannot see the
fields.
If I right-click on a table and click "Preview Data", I can see all the data
in the table.
It's strange because I already did a function where I can see if table exists or not and it works perfectly, so I'm only having problems creating the dataset...

Hello all,
I am new to windows CE programming. I have compiled MAPIRULE sample which is provided in Windows mobile 6 SDK at path "C:\Program Files\Windows Mobile 6 SDK\Samples\Common\CPP\Win32\MapiRule".
dll code get compiled properly but after compilation of SetupMapiRule project i am getting error.
Below is the content of cabwiz.log
Warning: Section [RegKeys] registry value "" has an empty string for the data.

Warning: Section [Shortcuts] has no data
Error: CAB file "D:\Win CE\MapiRule\SetupMapiRule\Debug\SetupMapiRule.CAB" could not be created
Please help me. beacuse without cab file i can not install any project in device.

Hi, I'm working on windows mobile too recently, and come across the same problem
I haven't found a solution yet.
However, for temperately, you can wrote an additional exe to wrote the exact registry value into the registry.
you can look up into file “regext.h" and the Windows API RegEnumKeyEx RegOpenKeyEx etc.

I actually I have solved that problem.
Actually the problem was that the Primary output file(the mapirule.dll) which I am adding in file system of my cab file was kept at (C:\Program Files\Windows Mobile 6 SDK\Samples\Common\CPP\Win32\MapiRule\Windows Mobile 6 Professional SDK (ARMV4I)\Debug) whic is too much long path & having spaces also.
So I just kept my mapirule.dll at shortest path (d:\mapirule.dll)
and added this dll to my setup workspace..
and now I have compiled my workspace,cab file got created.
I hope this will help you also. This worked for me.

I don't know the RTM for Visual Studio 2010. I know that come March information on Windows Mobile 7 will be released. I can only assume they are working on Windows Mobile 7 related components for Visual studio and as such are holding off on releasing the components until they release information on Windows Mobile 7.

I'm writing an app which needs to connect to HTTP using the WAP connection, which is not the dafault connection in the PDA (WinMobile) network settings.
What I mean is, my app needs to connect using a connection which is not the default one.
¿Is this possible using C#?

I have developed a CLDC application(has both .jar & .jad files) and tried it succesfully on Palm OS Emulator and Pocket PC Windows Mobile 5.0 emulator. When i tried with a CDC application(.jar files only) the application is not coming up. Only the message 'Loading CrEme..please wait' comes up and nothing. Any help on the issue? I sit because the correct JVM is not installed or something?
