actually, I have tried this way, it does not work, but as you proposed again, then I tried again, and I find that the object should be conveted into string first, then it works! i.e.:

According to their website, they support .Net 2.0, but don't specifically say they have support for Crystal Reports. Is it possible for me to build a web application and include the Crystal .DLLs in my \bin folder so that the reports will run ?
Or do I have to have Crystal "installed" on their IIS server ? (That is not going to happen.)

Why dont you use RemoteDesktop client to connect to your godaddy server and install crystal report
Actually Crystal Report DLLs are installed with VS.NET.. So if you require them to called from bin directory, just go to Properties of the Dll and check Copy Local = true.
But mind that the web config has the entry to call the proper Crystal Report DLL from GAC. Also take a look into it.

no,i m not cretaing webservice,but i just want to to call a server-side method from client-side.

first of all , i wud say that u should follow codebehind model. where server side method has to be written in .cs file.
then another thing is why u are creating a html control when you have to call a server side method

just place a server side control (Button/LinkButton/ImageButton) over there and call the method in the onclick event handler of that control.

I would suggest you read a little documentation, the System.Web.Services.WebMethod attribute is used to create an AJAX callable method in the page class.

Yes, i wasn't aware with this 1 hour before. but in this 1 hour a fast learner can learnt upto any level.
