Thank you for your quick reply yesterday.

Until now, I still confuse how to link my document file to CFileDialog, so that I can print my document file.

I am a beginner in Visual C++, even in C++. So that, please help me...

saving view size inside Splitter control

My SDI application is divided into many views using CSplitterWnd.
In each view, there are Frames again which are having views separated using CSplitterWnd.
Currently I am saving and reading mainframe size by GetWindowPlacement and SetWindowPlacement function.
When closing the application, I would like to save each view size and while loading I want to set the same size.

I have idea of using GetClientRect() on each view destructor and save it in registry or INI file.
Any suggestion on how to do this would be greatly appreciable.

Hi,

I'm developing this particular project to transfer images from a client to server and vice versa, along with chat function.
Chk this project

The project now functions for chatting only.
However I've written some part of code for image opening and diplaying part.
But the display function is not working correctly.
The program is compiling fine.

Please go through the code and point out the mistake in the code.
P.S. the send button on the image side is not yet been assigned any function.

Please, use the debugger to find out the bogus code and (optionally) post here the relevant part.

The code is compiling properly.
Debugger showing no errors but its not showing expected output.

Why are you using bm (instead of m_bmpBitmap) in the above line?

i read in somewhere that BITMAP, instead of CBitmap, variable has to be used for image display, copy and resize.

I've attempted using bmpBitmap also. The compiler shows these errors

C:\Documents and Settings\Admin\Desktop\SockIm1\PictureBox.cpp(48) : error C2228: left of '.bmHeight' must have class/struct/union type

I felt that it must be all right if i use bm instead of bmpBitmap

Your variable name is m_bmpBitmap, not bmpBitmap.

m_edit in the code is Edit box and if your application is dialog then add that code in InitDialog
if SDI, MDI then add in OnInitialUpdate().
And one more thing, use strcpy instead of wcscpy if you have _UNICODE, UNICODE preprocessor. Smile | :)

Yes, Hope you know that m_edit is of CEditCtrl added using class wizard, once this code is added it will be courier . Smile | :)

It will not work because CFont m_Font; object is declared as local object.

1) Make CFont m_Font; object member of your dialog class.
2) Use this code in OnInitDialog():

 // Create the font you need
m_Font.CreateFont(-11, 0, 0, 0, 100, FALSE, FALSE,
                  0, ANSI_CHARSET, OUT_DEFAULT_PRECIS,
                  CLIP_DEFAULT_PRECIS, DEFAULT_QUALITY,
                  FF_MODERN, "Courier");

// Set the specified font for the edit ctrl.
CWnd *pWnd = GetDlgItem(IDC_TEXT_BOX);
pWnd->SetFont(&m_Font);

If you need some additional info on CreateFont (the parameters for example) you can find this info here[^].
