Nevermind, in fact, that won't work.
This assumes a single threaded environment. But I need it to work in a multi-threaded environment.

If two methods calls this function in parallel, it should work. Essentially, I don't want the same method called twice down in the call stack.

i.e. Call Stack:
MyFunction()
YourFunction()
MyFunction()
This is what I want tpo prevent.

But in two different threads

Thread One:
MyFunction()
YourFunction()

Thread Two:
MyFunction()
YourFunction()

It is OK. But in the solution above, this would fail, since thread one is inside MyFunction while thread Two is trying to call it.
