you can't do this with php/javascript/html/css. You might have more luck with activex. But I think you might run into another problem in that every printer is different - so unless this is for one printer only, you might end up rewriting it for every printer(!)....
I don't know much about activex either - you might have to write a different one for each browser as well.

Hi there,
I am experiencing a problem which no doubt someone else has come across before but I cant work out for the life of me what the deal is with it.
I have included code below for an onload function and its call that enables me to be able to call multiple functions on-load. There are two at the moment, one that calls the current date and time and puts it in a div and another that "refreshes" an AJAX call and places content in yet another div.
The problem that I am having is that although both functions are being called (the second one is made in another script using a version of the same function call), only the second one is actually producing visible content (in this case a text field). However if I alert a message between the function calls both bits of content are produced as expected.
The code is as follows:

I don't really get your code - but if it work with a pause (alert) the you could try using php's "sleep()" or the JavaScript equivalent

I've taken two dropdown(select) in ASP.NET and filling first dropdownlist with CityNames and second dropdown with LocationName accordingly CityName. So i've taken an array in the array i'm having name of locations but i also want to store Location ID's for further searching.
Can anybody let me know how can i do that

store them how? what do you mean "for further searching"?
You could store as:
- text file.
- database.
- session variable.
- cookie.
Or you could just post the data to the required page.

Ok, so I have this problem. We have this document management program (called Celum) that I need to upload a whole bunch of documents to. Celum provides an API but it's an html/XML interface and that's providing me with some difficulties.
In order to upload a file I create an html web page as follows:

Does anyone have any idea on how I can automate this? I've never done anythign along these lines and I'm stumped. One of the problems I have is the upload file gets attached as a file in an htmlfilecollection (because of the enctype="multipart/form-data") and I'm not 100% sure on how to do this programatically. At some point I'm also going to have to attach a second XML file with metadata but it should be the same idea as the first file.

I'd use a csv file to add the users, and file paths and upload the files separately.

I have an old classic ASP app that I am trying to do some AJAX on (the real way, not Microsoft .Net way). I have a couple of DIVs that are alternated from hidden to visible (depending on if its an UPDATE or READ), which are controlled by a href='#' and an ONCLICK call to some javascript to do the hiding/displaying. My question is, whats the best approach to trigger a database update back when the hyperlink is clicked for the update? Should I be changing the hyperlink to a form button, or have a full form hidden and displayed, rather than just a hyperlink? Just looking for an approach, dont need actual code.
Here is a brief sample of the code I am working with. Note its in a Do..Until loop and returns a few hundred entries back from the database. showHide simply swaps the display: setting, and changeHTML changes the innerHTML of the control passed to it.

Hi,
How to display the contents in all resolution without scrollbar. Even if the resolution is high or low the content should set for that resolution and display entire content with in the screen without scrollbar

You can use css to lay out a page so that it will flow, but it's not going to look exactly the same on different resolutions, because your image sizes and font sizes will not change to fit.

I need the navigation menu to always appear over the top of the page content. On this page (and there will be others like it) the menu gets hidden behind the video clip.
How do I force the menu to stay on top of everything OR how do I force the AVI clip (will also be using SWF's in a similar way) to be on the bottom layer so the menu will appear over the top?
