A CLSID is the id of your COM object. I'd guess the issue is the different versions of Office.

You're referencing Excel 11 (2003) where your target is Excel 12 (2007). I would have thought backwards compatability would allow you to still reuse the same code for Excel 2007...

Nope, but I did do some poking around, it might have something to do with permissions.
Try granting your application permission to access the office binaries?

HI
I have a small problem with my application:
The application is a small programme that runs at computer log in, I have made some code to copy the start shortcut to the all-users startup folder.
Here comes my problem: When a new user is logging on to the PC the installer runs and then installs the application again for the new user.
Is there a way to install the application for all users the first time??

You only need to install the app once, in Program Files. Then you just need to put its shortcut in Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs.

I'm working on a webcam application using AVICAP class API available in the Windows operating system using vb.net, I'm facing a problem when I am doing limit to the duration of a capture operation by using the fLimitEnabled and wTimeLimit members of the CAPTUREPARMS structure

ok, the problem is when I run this code it gives me video file with time recorded 0 sec, it is just an image with avi extention
and I want it to be video file with 5 sec time duration
please tell me where is the problem

I don't why, but I would try writing 5000 instead of 5.
When you use the timer object, 5000 equals 5 seconds... That could be a reason, however I am not sure.

Hi everybody, I hope somebody can help me with this.
I've received a VB.NET project, and I must add some functions taken from another VB6 project.
One of these functions, uses the String$ function like this:
strValTemp = String$(1024, 0)
But it seems that VB.NET does not allow me use this function. Is there any other way of doing the same?

String$(1024, 0) creates a string 1024 characters long filled with nulls.
Is that going to be too hard in vb7.net?

Hi,
the string class has a constructor that takes one character and one number; it builds a string using that character count times, which AFAIK is what String$() used to do.

Hi All,
I am using FileSystemWatcher for checking the files in drive("C:\"). and add those files who are adding in "c:\"Drive to copy in "D:\".
It's working normally but when i try to copy file which size is large. then the error is generated file not found.
So How to check file is in progress of Coping.

File system wather shows that the file is added and at that time i try to start copy of that file.
Then following error message is displayed while the file is large.
The process cannot access the file 'E:\test.dat' because it is being used by another process.
If you can think then I Can.

You are getting the error because the file is still open/being written too, therefore your program cannot gain access.
What you need to do is keep checking the state of the file until it has been released and the perform whatever tasks you need for example :-
Dim OK As Boolean
Do
Try
'Open file and perform tasks here
OK = True
Catch
OK = False
End Try
Until OK

I have already using it.But it creates problem while File Can't Copy or Cancelation of Copy.
Because Do While Loop Not Found status of File.

You have to make the loop try to open the file for exclusive read. If not, you sleep for a couple of seconds, then do it again. When you get the file opened, close it. Then you should be able to use the File.Copy method to copy your file.
The FileSystemWatcher told you that a new filename appeared in the directory, not that the file was completely written.

I made one application form in vb.net and access as database,in this form there is a picturebox1 field where i can upload the images.i put one default image when the form gets loaded. i want to save this default image if i dont upload an image.And another problem i'm facing is i want to deploy my project on another system but when i'm deploying my project, the database is not connecting so i've to add database separately on the other system even though i'm adding database during setup.May be i'm going somewhere wrong.Please tel me how should i add database while setup and save the default image.

Note:I'm saving an image path in the database not the images.

OK. Where are you uploading to ? Is this a web app ? What is the issue ?

What is your connection string ? If the DB will be local, use localhost, not the machine name.
