Thank you so much ...Now I'm succeed in this code:

Can you give me some more sample about the first code ? I'm still error with this:

Truncate is more Faster than Delete

truncate table  dbo.TlkpPermission

Use Truncate not Delete

Hi,

I was trying the extract the records from a table which is currently used by some other user for updation/insertion.

My question is , Is there any way to read the committed data for a row which is presently locked because updation on this row is going on and transaction is not completed.

use NoLock for dirty reading

Hi,

Suppose i update the row
Begin tran
Update table set column = 'some val' where id = 9
it's original value is val

now suppose transaction completes after some time, and mean while a user selects this table and the user should read
val

not some val

Any Idea?

I dn't want to ready dirty data and also don'y want the query to get blocked

You can use Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) to configure SQL Server 2005 programmatically, including its protocols.

Good Morning All

Recently i posted some Sp that i had a problem with while working on a high volume of Data and someone suggested Pivot in sql . I goggled it and found that it was exactly what i was looking for , but i had a problem on the aggregate site because i wanted to Concatenate the Strings. here is the table structure.

ID              DESCR           CYCLETEMPLATE

7620	     Campbell P Dr	26
7620	     Campbell P Dr	27
7620	     Campbell P Dr	28
7620	     Campbell P Dr	29
7620            Campbell P Dr	      31
7621	      Jones D Dr	        23

7621	      Jones D Dr	        26
7621	      Jones D Dr	        28
7621	      Jones D Dr	        29
7621	      Jones D Dr	        33
7621	      Jones D Dr 	       34

i want to Pivot it and it should look like this

ID              DESCR           CYCLETEMPLATE

7620	Campbell P Dr	26,2728,29,31
7621	Jones D Dr	23,24,26,28,29,33,34

The CycleTemplate will be Concatinated if the Description is the same and the Discription will not be duplicated again. as you can see in the above example. If your solution duplicated the Cycletemplate its ok, i have an efficient way of removing duplicates in a Field level.

Didn't someone supply a sample function to concat the strings. This is the way I would do it.

It would also depend on the number of doctors as well, too many would cripple the process. You cannot do this in a single pass select query.

Hi Team,

I'm a software developer and,
I want to make my hosting server database as my local server database for testing purpose.
But my problem is that, I'v downloaded the sql2005 ssmsee from msdn subscription and installed it in my Vista Home Premium.
The thing is that after installation the Import and Export Options are missing.
So I can't able to Import and Export the database.

So, please anybody help me to make the hosting server database as my local database.
