Evan, we could go on like this forever and never get near a solution. Texting is not conducive to debugging. While it is entirely possible you are thoroughly debugging the application, you are not giving that impression in your posts. If in fact you have not performed such work, I strongly suggest you do. Debugging is how you find out exactly what is happening rather than just guessing.

I've debugged this as well as I can think to. JavaScript can't be "debugged" per se, as far as I know. And at any rate, I'm confident the JS itself is not the problem. I'm just wondering if anyone knows of a difference between an HTML input's value property and the ASP TextBox's Text property. Or maybe something with the page lifecycle.

If you have any advice on what I should specifically look at to debug these issues, I'd be glad to hear it.

please let me explain what my problem is and if you can answer that'd be very useful!

1. I am establishing a membership site and want all members to have an email address associated with the domain when they signup, with pop3/imap and a web access to this mail

2. When they signup to the membership site they will type their name and a desired mailbox or alias, for example if our site was called "website.com" and when John signs up he will want "john@website.com"

so he types this into the page on signup and gets his mailbox account created automatically through an API functioning system,
so there is no manual creations.

I am presently talking to hosting companies but not having much luck, if you know of a solution or method, please share!

Hi all,

how to set Iframe height dynamically???

my html code is:

i am trying to create a form using ajax, using a cfc file. but want the first dropdown to load when page loads ("the company name" and this works... then once the first populates and you select a company name the second dropdown is populated with the users that work with that company ("members" in member table linked to "company" in the contacts table... and this works) as well once both of those is selected it populates the rest of the form... address, city, state, zip, member number(on members table),category name(only as input not as a dropdown where another can be selected to update) and that is what i want... the category name is on the category table which lists all categories is linked to the catid table that holds the member id, category name and catid...

like i said i can get the rest to populate all being text fields but the categoy i want to be a dropdown of all categoies but have the one they have selected previously to be selected...

please help i have been working on this for a while

also found this in the forums that looks like it but i am only using sql 2005 and coldfusion

Hi,
im using Wshell.Regwrite to write registry(vb script) through html page...
but it works fine only when the option "Initialize and script ActiveX
controls not marked as safe" under Tools\internet
options/Security/Customlevel/ActiveX controls and plugIns ,is set to prompt or enable .....and if we set to any other option ie(disable) it fails ie it shows error like .. "ActiveX component cannot create object "Wscript.shell"...

So May i know whether is it possible to create my own ActiveX control(signed) with certificate so that it doesn"t depend on internet options..
if yes pls let me know how to do the same...

pls correct me if im wrong...

I have an existing ASP application on a single server www.server1.com.
This app. gets its data from an ACCESS MDB using Remote Scripting (I know its legacy!) and is running within shared-web space.

Is it possible using this/or any other technology to retreive data held in this Access MDB from another web server e.g. server2.com. and if so, how?

Hi experts,,,

I have devloped an web application and now its in Testing mode.
But when i trying to visit the page it gives me error.a follws..

Server Application Unavailable
  The web application you are attempting to access on

  Administrator Note: An error message detailing the cause of

So I open the Application event log to check cause..
it shows me..

aspnet_wp.exe could not be started. 
The error code for the failure is 80004005. 
This error can be caused when the worker process account has 
insufficient rights to read the .NET Framework files. 
Please ensure that the .NET Framework is correctly installed and 
that the ACLs on the installation directory 
allow access to the configured account.

I tried to it again by applying rights to ASPNET user.
But I m faild.

and I m using Visual Studio 2005 that means....Net Framework 2.0
NOW ITS VERY URGENT TO ME..
I NEED TO DO MORE MODIFICATIONS...
AND I M GETTING SCARED......

Did you try to reinstall ASP.NET? Use aspnet_regiis.exe -i within the v2.0-framework directory (can be found in Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework.

Actually there is nothing any problem of ASP.NET.
I think its an IIS problem..so I tried after IIS ReInstallation.

But Problem could not solved.

as just something I think about the Temporary Internet Files.
and..
My Problem has solved after Deleting the temporary folder for my WEBSITE from

"C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\Temporary ASP.NET Files\"

I am writing a web chat application. I am reading the new messages from database in the code behind page, and updating the text of the textbox.

But I need to refresh the textbox without refreshing the whole page, in roder to see the new messages.

How can I do this?
