Does anyone know of free source code or a free library for an open file dialog (i.e. choosing a file from the file system), based on the windows api directly (without mfc)? Thx in advance!

It's source is not available, but can't you just use GetOpenFileName()?

i don't know how i would delete CString.format(_T("%f"),a) a is type double..so 5 is 5,000000...now i would like to replace("delete") all the 0s from last index of string to index different from 0. for example:

5,0000 -> 5
5,1100 -> 5,11
5,0015300->5,00153

I have function for printing..so something must be done there Big Grin | :-D

I am able to detect all usb drives from my program but are not able to detect digital camera(with pictbridge technology) from my program..... Is there any special kind of Api used to detect these type of devices....

Obviously you haven't memory of unlimited size. If your file is reasonably small then you may allocate memory to read the whole file, otherwise you need to read the (big) file in chunks.

In VC++ 6.0 MFC application
i am trying to Display date in Shot Format eg;05-10-09
but it will print 05-10-2009

Here is the code i written
SYSTEMTIME st;
GetSystemTime(&st);

CString str;

str.Format("%02d-%02d-02%d",st.wDay,st.wMonth,st.wYear);
m_date=m_date + str;

I will get output say eg: 05-10-2009, but i want in this format 05-10-09

Plz any body help me

You can use _tcsftime()[^] or CTime::Format()[^] to format date/time in required format.

if you have trouble with those apis, then use COleDateTime. Check the sample code snippet for your use,

COleDateTime time = COleDateTime::GetCurrentTime();
CString str = time.Format(_T("%d-%m-%y"));

Please use the code block button to post code snippets.
It looks like you aren't completely aware about C++ syntax: new is a keyword (hence a reserved identifier), moreover if you wish (as it appears) execute both the statements
