Hello,
I am developing a smart device application uisng .net 2005 and WindowsCE 6.0
After every minute i give a call to a function which shows the current battery value using timer control.
But the timer runs throughout the project,hence my device performance is going very slow......
Is there any way to solve this as to incress the performance of my device.

Hi Yrishi,
Don't use timer for retrieving battery status in windows mobile .net 2005 API(Microsoft.WindowsMobile.Status) there is an event that automatically raise when the battery status or value changed. so you have to use this event to get the battery status or value.

i m working on Visual Studio 2008.
i m working on Windows based mobiloe,on XP active sync ia works so i m using RAPI for connection and other functionns,but this is not working in case of Mobile device center.
because for Vista and later mobile device center in required.
so please tell me what can i use for mobile device center.
if possible please explain me with example.

It is my understanding that RAPI should work with WMDC on Vista. May I ask what specifically is not working? Have you tried running your application as an administrator?

here rapi.dll used,in case of vista when rapi.dll is placed in same place where exe is places than its noot successfully connect the device,its return the deviceid 0.
so connection not successful.

Are you distributing a rapi.dll with your application? If so, I don't think that you want to do that. rapi.dll is already in the %windir%/system32 directory.

I haven't tried it myself, but there is an article titled "Developing Managed Bluetooth Applications" on MSDN that links to a managed class library wrapper (Windows Embedded Source Tools for Bluetooth Technology) that apparently makes it easier to work with Bluetooth:

Plug the phone in. If you have Vista then Mobile Device Center starts, if XP then if ActiveSync is present it will attempt to sync.

I created a mobile web page which have two labels and two textboxes and a command button. I run this small application and got the result in browser as .aspx file.
My question is how will it translate to WML? I've an Emulator accepts only either HTML or WML. but my resultant URL is in .aspx. How can i convert my custom page(ex:abc.aspx) into html or WML page to run in emulator? Can any one help me in this concept.

ASPX is the extention on the web page but the mime type is text/html. You don't need to do anything. The page is being rendered to the device as an HTML page. Ignore the extention in the address bar. One could just as easily send a sound or an image to a device using an ASPX page.

I'm considering a new phone and have the following considerations/requirements:
1. good video playback - support "hi-res" videos in MP4, MOV, WMV, ... and NOT choppy
2. good keypad for texting or accessing the Net via cell phone
3. Slim, sleek phone - NOT bulky or heavy (usually kept in pockets, not on a holster.)
... and while I was looking, I found two mobile devices my carrier (Verizon, USA) provides:
A. Samsung Omnia w Win Mobile 6 - $200 approx.
B. HTC Touch Pro w Win Mobile 6 - $350 approx.
So my question is...
has anyone done any programming for either and in general, which would be more suited for a casual developer who likes watching videos on his phone?
