Hi,
I am importing records from csv file. It contains 3-4 columns but that are not fixed.
and there is no header for the column. I am sending sms through csv file. Now I am reading it from csv file and inserting it into the database and after then fetching each row from the database and fire the sms on a given number. So it takes time to execute when there are more than 1000 records.
User can write mob no any where in the column. There are 10 fixed column so that user can send sms with name or price with mob no.
Should I go with the windows service or webservice. I want fast processing.

Neither of those options will affect how fast you can process a line of data in a CSV file. They only affect how the applications runs.
A windows service can run constantly while windows is running.
A webservice runs inside IIS and runs only when it receives a request. IIS can, and will, shut down the service if it has not received any requests for a while.

You are plainly clueless. A webservice and a windows service are two utterly different things. You would choose based on which does what you require. As it stands, I think you should abandon your project, and do some study.

Hi ,
I have doubt regarding the PopUps in .net.
I want popups from bottomright like Gmail Chats..
when we enter Gmail Chat we get popups from the bottom indicating new mails have come ... like that when i login in my website if there are any mails i have to get popups indicating new msgs came....
i have an example from codeproject.com
eeeksoft.web.popupwin
But this is not working properly...
Do anybody have the code.It is very very urgent for mee.....

Why ? What problem are you facing to use it ? I have used that control few years back and its worked perfectly for me.

hi,
It is working Fine in .net 2005 but in 2008 it is not working .... Error is not comming but pop up is not cooming ...
Is there any solution for this !!!!

Are you stupid ? The solution is to fix your code. You've not posted any code, so how can we help you ? Try also explaining how you've done your own debugging. Did you set IE to report all errors ? Did you check the script to see what is being generated ? Did you step through the script in debug mode to see what is happening ? Did you do anything apart from asking us to do your job for you ?

use DateTime.ParseExact to convert your date in "dd/mm/yyyy" fromat to "mm/dd/yyyy" format, since sql only recognises the latter format.
eg:

To convert a string to date, the date format should be MM/DD/YYYY OR MM/DD/YY.
The date "21-04-2009" is in the format dd-mm-yyyy.
This is the reason for the error.
Convert the string to correct format and your will get the result.

You need to understand what happens on the server and what happens on the client. OnClientClick is what you want to call. Return false to stop a postback.
