yes when ever selected value of dropdown is changed the event selected index changed is called if ispost back property of dropdown list is set to true.
or you can check it on client side also without postback.

Here is an example of how it can be done. On the main page i have a label that reads the value of the dropdownlist and once the dropdownlist updates it re-populates the label.
the main page
<asp:label id="Label1" runat="server" xmlns:asp="#unknown"></asp:label><br />
<asp:dropdownlist id="DropDownList1" autopostback="true" runat="server" xmlns:asp="#unknown">
<asp:listitem value="Update1">Update1</asp:listitem>
<asp:listitem value="Update2">Update2</asp:listitem></asp:dropdownlist>
and the code behind
protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
Label1.Text = DropDownList1.SelectedValue;
}

I have used ffmpeg.exe for convert .wmv or .avi file to .flv file. its working fine in local machine but when i upload it web server its not working. Also i don't get any error, my web server is windows server.
I think need some setting in IIS Server.
Please help me.

Page take long time to load due to heavy files(mainly .axd files).I am using few server side controls(textBox,dropdownlist,button and updatePanel).
I want to minimize the size of .axd files which contribute most to the total size(including .css,.js,images).I have set the scriptMode to "release".
<scriptmanager id="scriptManager" runat="server" scriptmode="release">
But didn't gain much.
I also have set the debug="true" in web.config file.

If you want to send mail using Web Service then who will going to initiate the Web service call on time interval ?
You can thing about Windows Service which will call your service to send mail on time interval. You have to scheduled it / Or use TimerCallBack in winservice to Call web service method on specific time.
If web service is only for send mail then you can do it directly from Windows service also.
Let me know if any issue.

Hi,
I am using a Master Page with Header, Footer, Left Column, Center (where Content Place Holder will be) and Right Column.
Now, my I have a SQL Database Driven Menu Control in the header like this:---

Now it is working fine. The thing I want it, suppose the user clicks on "Forum".
The "Forum" related webpage will be loaded and corresponding page will be displayed in the center (content place holder section).
At this time, what should happen is that corresponding Menu Hierarchy should be displayed in the Left Column, something like this:---

yes... same way if user clicks on ABC, ABC Menu should be there on the left hand side, and the new menu on left hand side should also offer URL features.
