No - CTRL+T in VB6 opens the components dialog which allows you to add controls, designers, etc to the project. The dialog doesn't test anything.
Guessing from your comment you want to add controls to the toolbox in .net. Right click on the toolbox and pick 'Choose Items'.
Any suggestions, ideas, or 'constructive criticism' are always welcome.

For applications under VB6 and C++/MFC which use the Dialog Editor (rather than WinForms), it was possible in Visual Studio to test out a dialog to preview the dialog using the "Format / Test Dialog..." menu (or by the Ctrl-T accelerator) and then hitting ESC to exit the preview to get back to the dialog editor.
To my knowledge, this functionality is not found in the editor for Windows Forms based applications in Visual Studio.
Has anyone implemented a plug-in or extension to Visual Studio to allow previewing WinForms from the editor?

Hi to all,
When I create a new form and try to re size the form to 1024,768. It doesn't allow me since my monitor resolution is 1280,720. Is there any way to fix the form(to 1024,768) resolution during the development time?
Reason I want to do that is ::: My exe will run in a computer with resolution 1024,768. Initially for development I was using a monitor with 1024,768....But now,I shifted to 1280,720 and certain control messed up. I cannot use anchor property for all the controls, since I have lots of them.(I have used many panels within the form).

Just type the size you want into the Size property in the Properties window with the Form selected. Visual Studio does not resize forms in your project based on the size of your development machines resolution settings.

No excuse. With proper design, this shouldn't be a problem at all. And from the sounds of it, you have way too many controls on a single form to begin with.

If i were you, i will try to undestand exctly what does that vb6 program does nd i will rewrite it in .NET, i will never carry the VB6 crap to .NET.
There is no other Solution bra, you have to rewrite.

You simply have no choice but to start rewriting this by hand. The Conversion Wizard wasn't going to be able to do a 100% conversion anyway. There's always a good amount of code you have to rewrite by hand because of it.

Hi, I'm a VB beginner and got handed a project for a convention in two weeks, to print name badges. I'm having trouble figuring out how to take input from three text boxes (badge number, real name, and badge name) and printing them onto a single page. I have a working program that prints a single text box as a basis.
As a plus, they want to print the badges on a page of business cards fed into a lazer printer, which means that I need to be able to tell assign which card-size area to print to.
Any nudges in the right direction are appreciated.

Have you considered that this problem has been addressed before. There should be literally 100's of solutions out there and some are probably freeware.

I am create a Dll with VC.It generate a TLB&DLL file(names VcDll.TLB&VcDll.DLL)
I can refer the files via select the menu item :
Project->Reference ,Then in the poped dialog,click the "Browse.."Button to add it to my object in VB6.

OK, so is the .DLL it references registered?? Use REGSVR32 for that...

I think in VS2005 you need to create an object of VcDLL.dll before calling its method.
After adding reference,try following code :

I have been using a font (bundled) with my applications for many years. Today I got an email from a customer, stating that the font was locked, and their Adobe pdf printer wouldn't print it.
I searched the web, but came up empty on how to unlock a font file.
Any ideas?

I think you just ran acrossed a bogus error message. I've never heard of it.
You might want to contact Adobe to see if they know why it would say that.

My customer sent a copy of the Adobe (distiller?) window.
It clearly shows my two fonts with a yellow 'lock' icon.
It also says: "Only fonts with the appropriate permission bits will be embedded"

You can get this using WMI and the System.Management namespace. Basically, you have to retrieve all instances of the Win32_Processor WMI class. The Name field of that class will give you what you're looking for. You can also get all kinds of other processor information from the same class.
