Aah, you're right, it would calculate the birthday too early. Perhaps Microsoft should include a new concept called slow modulo just for this purpose I think it would be interesting to read about it in SQL Server 2385 Books Online September edition.

Hi everybody,
I have configured a little SSIS-package that downloads files and synchronize them with my DB.
After deploying it, I run it from the IS Package Store (or whatever it is called). No problems, everything did nice.
Then I created a job for the SQL-Server-Agent in order to have my package run by schedule. But there it just did nothing...
I've worked out all the security-level-related articles like http://support.microsoft.com/?scid=kb%3Ben-us%3B918760&x=16&y=12[^], but nothing helped...
But after activating the option "Run under 32bit environment" (you can find it under "Steps / Execution Options") it worked fine.
Of course I'm glad about it, but I don't see why this option should be activated on a 32bit-system? What's the point? Of course I want it to run under 32bit, BECAUSE my system is 32bit
Any explanations?

This is not necessary to insert sound file in database, you can store your file name or path into the database table and store your file to the particular folder inside your projects.

I have created o form from which I want to be able to store typed in data to a table/query and from this table I am able to create report.
Problem is that I don't know the code for the button which will perform data entry and I will have blank form for another input
And also If typed in data already is in table/query then I want that is asks me if I want change data for that field in table/query.

i had inserted record in table but forget to give primary key....but now i need to give primary key to it..but i cant ???

If a table has a primary key on it, you won't be able to insert a record without specifying it (unless its an Identity). Can you give a bit more info?

From last 5 to 6 days , our sql Server behaving ubnormally .
CPU utilization goes to 100% , i stopped SQL Agent and Stopped DTC Service. but it did not help at all.
CPU was remains at 100% . then i stopped SQL server.
But after restarting ,CPU agians goes to 100%. I looked in the trace but i was not able to find any query or Stored Procedure which is taking the CPU cycles more than 1000 or 2000.
I am not able to rectify the problem..
Kindly help me out..

I am working on SQL server 2000 and i continuesly watching the Current activity in Process info option.
i found same type of process with 60 to 70 number of simulatenously running activities. they all running the Sp_Cursoropen Command and consuming maximum CPU cycles.
Example:-
ProcessID ContextID User Database Status Command Application
waittime CPU PhysicalIO MemeoryUsage

You could check that it's not a locking issue using sp_lock or sp_lock2

I have Cleints that uses my Application. My Application is Built in Tiers and i dont do database work in my pages, i just call fuctions of my DAL. now when Deploying my Database or Fixing bugs, i end up adding more Stored procedure. To some client i just give them the SP to create or Alter some i do it myself. Now i ask your advice. if is there a way to create a Script that will recreate my SP's on the destination Databases when i deploy my application or when a Client deploys the Application.

sp_lock2 is a good tool for resolving lock blocks. If you find a locking issue, you can use KILL statement to kill the session

First collect the current SQL Server instance name
select @@servername
Execute the below queries to change the SQL Server instance name
sp_dropserver ‘old_name’

If I understand your question correctly, what you need to look at is ado.net - this is what is used to connect to a database and execute queries, stored procs etc. Just searchfor ado.net, there are loads of examples here at CP and even more on google.

Yeah - me too.
You would think that someone with 1/2 a brain would realise after several stupid posts like yours that you aren't going to get help unless you put some effort into it yourself.
Granted that English is not your first language (I hope!) s it may be hard for you to explain exactly what you are after - but the site really expects you to do something for yourself.
What have you tried? Is there some specific thin you can't get to work? Have you managed to call a SP from your application? Are you having trouble with the SQL, calling a SP, getting the value out of the text boxes?
Put in some effort, and you may find the posters here extremely helpful. Fail to do so and you will find them scathingly sarcastic, at best.
