This means what it says. Either the server is not available, or it's not visible, or your connection details are wrong.

Server is available...connection details are correct... But the sytem(which is in the local machine domain ie a test machine) from where im trying to connect is in different domain from the system(a developer machine) to which im trying to connect but both the systems are in network....

I think you are not mentioning the Domain Name.

Ya when i gave the domain ie "ntlmdomain:MYdomain" it is giving me error as...
May i know is there any limitation for WMI connection between Windows 2003 server and Windows Xp pro

Did you write your domain name? I mean Suppose I am working in Domain "Abc", So I should mention ntlmdomain:Abc, If your domain is "Xyz", placed your domain name over there.

No, there should not be any problems.

a) Ya because it"s actually for admin purpose to connect to other systems and get hard disk info etc... and that he has to see all this thru web that"s the problem..

Can you please try to inspect if WMI service is running on target machine :

I've been meaning to add a photo gallery to my (currently empty) website, and thought it might be nice to have the pics fade in and out in response to button clicks. It's a common enough effect that I see all the time. So I searched Google for a while on various keywords and, much to my surprise, every single implementation of this I found was done in Javascript (or Flash, which doesn't count). Not one example or product used C# for this - Why?
I have nothing against Java or its kid sister, but I'm trying to learn C# in what little free time I have and would really like to take a crack at this in the language I'm attempting to learn. Is there some fundamental reason that this is only done using Javascript? I know that, back in the days when I was doing some serial port work I found that everything Microsoft had was garbage and was almost impossible to use well, but Java had a built in library of serial comms functions that made the job nearly trivial. Is there something similar going on here in the web effects department?

It's obvious you have no idea about ASP.NET. Buy a basic book and read it. Here's a clue - C# runs on the server and javascript runs on the client. You cannot run C# code on the client in ASP.NET.

It can be easily done by using JQuery[^], a free JS library. It is pretty easy to get started. See their documentation.

OK, that is a pretty long time, I think 5 years ago, doing much in JS was an odd thing. Now, it's a must. I recommend you get the Javascript book from O Reilly and also 'AJAX in Action', to get a handle on the js stuff. As for ASP.NET, I've not bought any books for a long time, but 'Essential ASP.NET with examples in C#', while it would be out of date wrt things like gridview and other built in controls, is the best book I ever found to explain how ASP.NET actually works.

Hi, I am still a newbie in ASP.net, sorry if I am asking stupid message.
I am trying to develop some website using asp.net 2.0
and I currently have some difficulity to use one of the ToolBox called FormView
for displaying the data from database
I want to transfer from microsoft access to FormView here is the code

I think I did with the correct way because when I tried to run the website, I did not get any exception error, However, I couldn't see the formview, it just blank . Is there any attribute that I need to fill in so I can see the data in the Form_View ?

yeah I've stepped through the code
i also try to add some debug code
bool bResult = false;
if(myDataAdapter.Fill(myDataSet) > 0)
{
bResult = true;
}
and I monitor the value of bResult, the result is true.
if I use GridView,it works perfectly, so I dont think there is a mistake in transferring from database to dataset,
I suspect the problem when transfering from DataSet to FormView, which i use the same mechanism when i use GridView
set the data source -> FormView.DataSource = DataSet;
bind the data -> FormView.DataBind();
is there anything that I need to add more?

Download the SDK from Intuit site. In that you can find sample code for connecting with QB and getting required values. There is an On-Screen Reference(OSR) which helps you to know the modules and fields in QB.
Register yourself @ http://developer.intuit.com and proceed.
