If the browser is told not to cache the page, it means, for example, if you log out and then the user hits back on the browser, the browser won't reload the logged in page from it's cache, it will try to load it again, allowing you to make sure the user is asked to log in. That's the typical reason people use it.

Hi
I have been working on VS2008 and i am using System.Data.OracleClient to connect with Oracle 9i DB.
I am getting the following error when i run the application.
"System.Data.OracleClient requires Oracle client software version 8.1.7 or greater."
Do i need to install oracleclient software on my machine to access oracle db or what should i do?...
How to resolve this please help me..its very urgent..

Dear All,
I am trying to display records of text data and some image in repeater but requirement is if the record is without image then text should align on left site,
But if the image is in record then first image should display on left side i mean left alignment and text should display beside with image but on he right side of image.
Now i need some help how to display these records in repeater item tag with if condition.
if image if true in image class then first image display on left then text display on right if no image in record then simple text display on left
kindly tell me what should i do.

I want to remove the file Extention from the URL.
Like - in URL path is like that - http:\\localhost\project1\webform1.aspx
Now I want it only show in the URL like - http:\\localhost\project\webform1
if form have Query string that it shows as it is but with out file extention(.aspx).

Extension-less URL rewriting is not possible in IIS6.0. If you are using IIS7.0, you can do this.

In fact, you can do this with any version of IIS. What you need to do, is replace all your pages with folders, and then in each folder put a default.aspx. I explained this to someone here recently, although the whole thing seems retarded to me.

Hello,
I am working with VS 2.0. i written code for dropdownlist filling using icallback event. when i use this event is working for dropdownlist. and in that page i had one button control when i click on button i am getting below error.
Invalid postback or callback argument. Event validation is enabled using <pages enableEventValidation="true"/> in configuration or <%@ Page EnableEventValidation="true" %> in a page. For security purposes, this feature verifies that arguments to postback or callback events originate from the server control that originally rendered them. If the data is valid and expected, use the ClientScriptManager.RegisterForEventValidation method in order to register the postback or callback data for validation.
What may be the reason.

You can use some common database for the all loggedin users and check every time when one is going to login whther someone has loggedin with a same userid or not.

The obvious way is in your database have a field that tells you a person is logged in, and if they are, don't allow another login. The issue with this is, you cannot be sure to catch any event that tells you a person has logged out, so you should also store a timestamp every time that user requests a page and when you check if they are logged in, also check that to see if it's been long enough to assume it has expired.

Does your image control getting reloaded after the update. for instance try updating the user image as <username>_<version no="">.jpg etc. so when you try change the image. Check weather the image control loads the next version (<username>_<version_number+1>)

Hi All,
i am posting data to url like this:

where RequestData is the variable contains very huge data,so i am getting an exception like 'URI too long 414 Error'
if i try to change the URL the Remote server is giving an error like the URL specified is not in the correct format..
if i give less data in RequestData Variable it is working fine..
but my data is very huge so i am getting the Above 414 Exception
can anybody please help in this regard....
