I want to use .net classes in my html tag.
for example I want to use the System.Web.Security.Membership.ValidateUser in my <script language=javascript> tag
is this possible?
generally, my question is if you can add references in javascript.

I believe Codeproject is mostly accessed by people working on Microsoft Technologies. Poeple using Java, Oracle, Sybase or other technolgies and databases may not be even aware of such survey here and thus won't visit this site to vote.
In my opinion, the results of this survey can probably tell "Which database people use along with Microsoft front end technologies (C#, ASP.NET, VB.NET, VB etc.)?"

Ummmm. This site is about the people on this site and what their interests are. Also, housewives (non-programmers) sitting at home do not have the option to select they do not use a database. Lighten up Francis.

That’s why it’s not a scientific survey, just like the ones on CNN and every other website. Technically, almost all surveys are at least partially biased because they all use self-selecting participants—unless you have ever heard of a survey that either people were forced to do or tricked into doing without even knowing it. As mentioned above, people who have no interest in the survey are not polled, and thus not counted which would be required to make it unbiased (eg database programmers who don’t like filling out surveys or have no time, etc.)

First, I entered "VistaDB (www.vistadb.net)". An error came up ("There was an error storing your...").
Next, I tried "CListCtrl" and succeeded.
Strange...

I had the same error entering postgresql. But it worked the second time for me as well.

Well, CListCtrl is the name of the class, as is. The C is a Microsoft convension for coding, and stands for "Class", IIRC.

I have voted for sql server 2005 but, i belive what database i use it just depends on client, we can only suggest client to use other database, but they dont understand how important to be choose a right database. Some client didn't want to spend money for database in that case we have to use their suggested database.
I have experience of using .net 2.0 with MSAccess database, and boy it was very strange experience..

SQL Server express edition took some market from MySQL.
MS did the right thing when released such a product.

We use SQL Server 2005 for internal applications, but I mostly interface with third party products. One uses SQL Server 2000, another uses Caché (which we would never select ourselves) (it's not even a recent version!), we just stopped using a product that uses Ingres, and yet another product uses MySql.
So my code has to be fairly database agnostic.

We ran this survey a few years ago and I based the options on what we saw there.
We are, after all, a Microsoft centric site.
It's interesting to see MySQL doing so well though.

Why are there only SQL*Server versions mentioned and not Oracle version?
The list could also include Oracle 7, Oracle 8, Oracle 9, Oracle 10 and Oracle 11.
