Hello,
I have executed a stored procedure written in SQL Server by calling it through VC++.
It was done through ODBC APIs SQLConnect(),SQLBindParameter(),SQLExecDirect() etc.
Now I want to pass parameters to the procedure I know the syntax that I am suppose to write in VC++.
But what changes should I make in the procedure in SQL Server.
I have the following stored procedure in SQL in which I want to accept 'LPG' and 'Mumbai' as parameters
CREATE PROCEDURE tryproc AS
SET @first = 0;
( SELECT SUM(t) AS first FROM demand WHERE product = 'LPG' AND LOCATION = 'Mumbai' )
create table abc (demandsum int);

Hello All,
I am using SSRS 2005. I have problem on logon page, when cookie is not available. This should generate new cookie: But I am getting error and control returns.
I am getting following error: [System.NullReferenceException] = {"Object reference not set to an instance of an object."}
This comes with the 4th line of the code:

I'm not really sure what the problem is. I can see that you have lifted the code from a Microsoft sample application though. In the Microsoft sample, they use SetCookie rather than AppendCookie. However I'm not sure whether this is significant.
Is the code actually falling over on this line, or it it failing in TranslateCookie?

I am installing a new server, created my database with a script, loaded my database with my data. Using Enterprise manager, right click a table return all rows works fine, everything looks normal.
Now, go to SQL Query analyzer and run a select * from the table and I get no rows.
Create and ODBC connection and link the table in Access and I see my data, run a query from a simple web page and get no data.
any ideas?

its Either your password is wrong , or you are Connecting to a wrong Server, that has no User that you want to Exit, remember that the useer does not roam, if you have create a user for a certain server , it will not work in other servers, i suggest you try to create a new user with the same name as the one you are saying, you have, if it says it exists, them the user does not exists in that server.

Hello,
I am new to ADO and have to learn it for work so im playing aroud with it...my problem is that I have a blank datagrid on my form. I am trying to make a connection to an oracle database and create an SQL statement to retrieve the data I want and then display this in my datagrid...this is my code:

i have never connected to an Oracle DB, but now, you did not bind the datagrid to your dataset.
after the last line in your code, put the following line
Datagrid1.DataMember = "BASE_CALC_CODES"
Datagrid1.DataSource = dsWorkGroup
.

Hello All,
First, I did try to search for the answer to this one and I either didn't use the correct keywords or something because the system didn't return any hits; so here I am.
Simply, I know there is a way to insert the same data into 2 different tables but I need to do it within 2 different databases. I am using a stored procedure but I am not sure how to set it up in the procedure. I know I need to enclose it in a transaction but how do I direct the insert to populate the second table in the other database?
Any assistance would be greatly enjoyed.

Are your two databases on the same server? If so, you can reference tables in the other database using the syntax database.owner.mytable.
If the two databases are on different servers, you can set up one of the servers as a linked server in your other server.

Thanks for the quick response. I gave it a try on some test tables I created and executed the SP and had a return value of '0' which is good. The only problem is that the information I tried to insert was not in either table 
Below is what I created, could you take a look and see if I am missing something.
