Hi,
I am looking at saving my customer's date of birth, what is the best data type to use for this. I'm looking for advice. Should I just use varchar(8) or should I use the datetime datatype?

Well, the obvious question is, why do you think there's a datetime type ? Some ideas that spring to mind:
1 - if you use the date type, you can do queries based on date ranges, etc
2 - if your DB gets moved to a PC with a different date format, the varchar will break, but the datatime will work fine

And why would you want to know the customer's birthdate? I always enter 1900-01-01.

can I create sp which take table name ,first column ,secound column as a parameters to create table
(2 columns only) with this varibles name

Initially when a new table is created, there is no index created by default. As I said in the previous post that an Index is a Reference created by the Database engine for reference, Just like an Index in the book to locate the information. there are 2 types of Indexes created in an Sql Server table - Clustered and Non-Clustered. As I said that When you create a Primary key on a table, By default a clustered Index is created on the table. A Clustered Index is similar to a dictionary. In a dictionary, the words are organized and sorted alphabetically. Same way on Clustered Index Column the records are sorted in the same order as the indexed order of the rows.

Hello....i've been working in ado.net for a few months now... and am quite confused how to use the dataset object. though i know it depends on what type of project a person is upto but still i wanted to know which one is the better approach to usin the datasets...
Approach 1: fill the dataset with all tables at project load and use the dataset for all searches and things. though as sqlserver is locally placed, i update the sqlserver tables as soon as i update the data set...
Approach 2: fill dataset with only the rows that are required... ie if u need some rows according to a criteria, write a select statement, discard ur present dataset and refil it with this statement...
Please provide full information,based on performance issues of a system...
as far as i think , i believe approach1 will be better but it becomes hard to handle when u have more tables, like 60 tables... so wat should be done in this case, "A dataset for every 10 tables"? or wat...

I am developing an application in which when user did login and want to make his sub-login suppose 5 then at the time of making sub-logins the column that contains the number of sub-login 5 may be decremented by 1 itself and when he delete any one of his sub-login then this field will automatically incremented. This application is in C#.NET

Any one knows how to use aggregate function on a multiple table. Following query is i am trying but i m not getting any success

There's no difference between using aggregate functions on a single-table query to a multiple-table query.
The problem with your query is that it doesn't have a GROUP BY clause. You use a GROUP BY clause to group similar items of data together. For each group of distinct data items, the COUNT function will return the count of items within this group. Without a GROUP BY clause, no grouping of data will occur and the COUNT function will always return 1.
