Hi
In my application data is comming from veb server to my localserver.
For this purpose i'm establishing connection to webdatabase and matching the id(uniqueno) from web database to local database tables. If already exist then no insert if not exist then insert.
In this case the problem is that, suppose there are 1 lakh records on web database then my application will check for 1 lakh time. And i think it's not a right way to do this stuff.
Please suggest me any better solution.

Sorry bud, but you are not making any sense. What is "1 lakh"? Why don't you write a webservice, and pass a dataset back to your local server (makes it easier to compare). Are you just posting data to your webserver now each time? If so you are right, it is not very efficient.

my solution file is getting saved in the default location of dotnet which is in Document settings..Can any one please tell me how to save .sln file with the .aspx files

1. You can simply save-as .sln file in new location.
OR
2. There is one option to change the path in Options dialog of VS 2005. but this might not be what you want since the .sln will save in the location that you changed in "options" dialog..

Use a DataSet - it's all you've got left. Alternatively, you could use Linq, but the fact that you are trying to store it in an object tells me that this is probably well beyond your capabilities - as is using google.

When user enters the URL, IIS will look for default document specified in the root. So I don't think that your URL can be rewritten

They might be using URL redirection which is supported by hosting providers. BTW, why do you need to do this ?

Actually i have some functionality in my project which depends on what page you are.So i check the request.absoluteuri and if it contains the text "home" then i proceed with my logic.

I guess you are checking this from Master page or from any user controls ? If you are using master pages, you can have a boolean public property which can be set from page. From homepage set this value to true. So when doing your logic, you can check this property and if it is true, proceed. I think this will be efficient than checking the URL.

Anyone knows how to use login control and how to connect it with the SQl server 2005 and connect to the table within my application database. So it can match the values from the table I have already created in my database.
