I've been reinstalling the ajax at the server several times but it doesn't work fine.
We have to go back to the original problem.
When accessing it thru the IP address the ajax will work. But when using the domain name (same IP reference), the ajax won't work. Why?

Actually this is the first time that I encountered this kind of problem that the Ajax will not work. Because I have tried installing some of my projects before at the server with the same web.config, ASP.Net framework 2.0, AJAX Ext 1.0 and AJAXcontrolToolkit and all are working fine.

Hi Guys,
You know, I won't believe it, I solved it. And the solution is not difficult as what we think. I just renamed the folder and overwrite the web.config and then I renamed back the folder and it works fine now.
Sometimes things are happening really strange

One thing you didn't seem to notice. You're saying AJAX when you mean the ASP.NET AJAX extensions. I guarentee to you that AJAX was working fine the entire time.

You mean you renamed the root folder of the application? Why did you have to overwrite the web.config. Did you rename it after deploying? And then renamed it back again?
So What should be taken care to avoid the problem that occured?

honestly, I really don't know if what trigger it to work properly now. I was just trying ovewriting the system.web.extensions.dll, foldername, and the web.config. I renamed the folder where my asp.net pages are located.
My feeling is that it just like being refresh everything. Because before I did the renaming of folders and overwriting of dlls and web.config it's really not working, even to a very simple test.aspx with scriptmanager and updatepanel. And now it's working fine after doing those trials.
Really funny and confusing, because I never changes anything inside my pages source codes as well as the web.config and asp.net dlls.

Are you monitoring with an http monitor to see what the ajax requests look like. Something like http watch or fiddler work well

Is it possible to place a div created in one frame into another frame? I tried with absolute positioning with style="left " in the right frame but it takes only the leftmost position in the right frame. It never goes to the left one. Is there exist any property for a div we can achieve the above requirement?

I have seen the demo I did not work on it. I see that the div's id that's on an inner frame is assigned to a variable to the parent's variable. But can I then access the containers div from the parent then?

Hi,
I need to advice from the experienced web designers. I am looking at working through the Yahoo user interface API, and I was wondering if there is a tool/program/IDE available that is up-to-date with the XHTML and CSS standards. I want to use it solely for my web designs. I don't always want to open up a project in VS2005 just to create a web page. I would prefer if the tool is free.
And another thing, I am also looking at a good XML tool.

Hi Guys and Gals.
I am trying to create a Dynamic Image in Crystal Reports. Now, when I do this in the full version of Crystal Reports 11, It works fine, but the moment I use the Build-in Crystal of .NET, I cant get this picture control to display a different image.
Can anyone please guide me on how to solve this problem please?

P.S. In Crystal 11, If you right click on the object and go to Format Picture, Picture Tab has an option that reads: Graphic Location. If you click on the Conditional Formula Button, you can specify the field that contains the location to the picture. Dont have this option in .NET.

I am an inexperienced programmer (hobbyist) trying to write a program in C++ that a web server can interface with. The application runs like a server app and the web server should act as a front end for it. I can write the application but do not know how to add the necessary interfaces for it.
I ruled out CGI since my program has to run continuously. I am looking at COM, but I want to be able to port it to LINUX and I understand COM does not work on LINUX. Ideally, I was targetting something that would work with the Apache http server.
Any suggestions anyone? Is there a common interface scheme that will work under Windows and LINUX for Apache?

I am not sure this answers the question as it sounds making my App network capable when I wanted to avoid this. Hopefully this will explain better what I was hoping for.
1) The application I want to write is like a virtual world, with things going on in it all the time. It runs continuously like a service or a deamon.
2) Other applications on the same machine should be able to communicate with it, sending commands/requests and getting results.
3) I specifically wanted a web server to communicate with it. This makes it easy to reach the world via the internet, and design interfaces via html forms/widgets/whatever. That way my clients only need a internet connection and a browser. Also, I don't have to get into TCP/IP, firewall and other issues.
So I guess I am designing a back end application for a web server to work with, but I don't know how to give it an interface the web server can talk to. I also was hoping there was a cross platform scheme I could use so that it can be done on Windows and LINUX.
Any suggestions?

I am trying to work through the Amit Kalani 70-315 book, I tried to open an existing project and I now get this message
"Unable to get the project file from the web server. Unable to open Web project '315C05Exercises_new'. Unable to
validate that the file path'C:\inetpub\wwwroot\315Exercises_new' matches the URL path'http://localhost/315C05Exercises_new'.
Access is denied."
I am using Visual Studio.NET 2003 and I am running on Vista Home Premium.
Can anyone please help?

#1. Check whether you have IIS installed in your machine or not. ( if you dont have, install it. and remap IIS with VS 2003)
#2. Create the virtual directory called "315C05Exercises_new" in IIS and map with the physical path eg: "C:\inetpub\wwwroot\315Exercises_new".
#3. double-click the project file (instead of .sln) to open the project.

Hi All,
I have a CheckBox List and a GridView Control and some div tags in my form. For each Check box item selected, we will change the div tag and once the data is changed in the controls in the Div tag, then we will click a Save Changes Button which will update the Contents of the GridView.
Here in the Page Load i am firing some events through the javascript to display the DIV according to the selected checkBoxListItem. In the pageLoad, i am able to get the Work done very fine. And after the Update Panel content is updated, the Script is not functioning as the Client script is rendered in the Body onload of the corresponding page.
Please Help in this Regard.

When Firefox 3 is released, Javascript 1.8[^] will be shipped with FX3.
Does anyone have any idea whether Microsoft will added the Javascript 1.7 or 1.8 in IE6/IE7 or not?
