Hi friends

i have one a.aspx and one usercontrol.
I have defined one public property in code behind file in user control.
I have one link button in form and I load dynamically usercontrol in the page on click of this button.

My code is here

PlaceHolder.Contrls.Add(LoadControl("usercontrol.ascx"));

But I want to access property.
How can I do this?

Iterate over the controls in PlaceHolder, and find the one that is an instance of the user control. If you want to access it right away, do this:

userControl control = LoadControl("usercontrol.ascx");
control.property = value;
PlaceHolder.Controls.Add(control);

This code is obviously not copied from your code, it has a typo, it's best to paste the code so we see exactly what you're running.

i have done it by following code

UserControl uc = ((UserControl)LoadControl("UserControls/ucEditLetter.ascx"));
		Type ucType = uc.GetType();
		System.Reflection.PropertyInfo ucPropInfo = ucType.GetProperty("LetterID");

		ucPropInfo.SetValue(uc, "value", null);
		divLoadFCK.Controls.Add(uc);

Validators not working

Hi all,

In my form i have a textbox field wherein the user needs to input his email address. All i need to do is make this field mandatory as well as i need to check it for correct format. For this purpose i have used a required field validator and a regular expression validator validating the same control.

These validation fires well when the textbox lose focus but fails when i submit the form. I also checked my submit button for property causesvalidation=true .

Any help would be highly apppreciated..

Set VaidationGroup property to all validator ctntrols and submit button

Another source of issues comes if you are using AJAX ASP .net, there is a workaround for this:

DataGrid has an one property called Width. Smile | :)

You can set it by pixel.
for example.

Width="100px"

In datagrid there is one itemStyle section you can set item property there.

Hi,

I have the following problem: I have a gridview which has 3 cells, the first cell is bounded to datasource, the second is a cell containing an empty textbox and the third contains a linkbutton. The first cell can contain text with arbirary length and that should be wrapped in multiple rows. I would like to have the first cell and second cell to have the same width and if the text in the first cell contains more than one row, then the second cell should have the same properties as the first one. The point is that the cells should be identical.
How can accomplish this behaviour of the gridview? Any help is well appreciated!

Hi Friends,

I am working in an application which has multiple projects under a single solution. The files are organized as,

Solution

    - Base Library (which has the classes, which are used commonly used across all the projects under the solution)

    - Framework

    - Configuration Page

    - Setting file (web.config)

    - Project 1

    - Project 2

    - and soon...

Here I have created a website which is mapped to Framework as the root directory and Project 1, Project 2 are virtual directories.

I have Session objects which are used commonly used across all the projects. But its not sharing them.

But I have found that the SessionID for all the projects are same. My assumption is if the SessionID is same then the Session objects are same.

Do anybody have solution for this problem?

Since both are two different virtual directories, you can't share session between them. If all these are part of a same website, why do you need to create both as separate virtual directories, One virtual directory isn't enough ?

I know this already, but just want to confirm whether there is another way to solve this problem. I won't agree still since all the projects have Session object with same SessionID. As per my Knowledge SessionID would be different for each projects.

This cannot be done, since file organization is a big problem here. Most of the files have the same file names.

Well, When I see your issue, I tried the same here. But I tried in other way which gave me different session id. I printed session id on the first page, redirected page to next, relative path like /project2/page didn't worked. I have to give full URL to redirect. There I got different Id.

Did you tries like,

HTTP website rather than FileSystem Website?

As well as,

Framework in the root of the website and Project 1 and Project 2 are the virtual directory of the same. I created extra website in my XP machine using VB Script.
