1) Does the request need to go through any Proxy Server?
2) Verify the pageAddress value as a quick MessageBox or a log file.

1) I was pretty sure it does not, but I chekced it out and it looks like there is a Proxy on the request way.
2) pageAddress is fine.

We r using YAHOO.widget.AutoComplete to show information in div or container... this all happens on keypress event of textbox. this is fine .. working ok..
Now i want to show some default list or info. in container or div on onclick event of textbox when textbox is empty. now here i am stuck ...

str.match(address) = null
This is because match finds only characters already in "PO BOX".
How can I find "PO BOX 6" when I match it with str. [means, similar to contains in C#)
Please help.

Hi, I'm fairly new to CSS and was wondering if anyone could help me.
I am working on a web application that will allow a user to view PDFs and other files within the current webpage.
I have managed to achieve this by using an asp:Literal to call a given PDF file stored in a database using a dynamic html string.
I had no problems with this until I looked at my page in Firefox. As I am using a coloured background for my page, Firefox will display the given file only the rest of the container (if it is not filled) is now also coloured.
I tried to solve this by applying a white background to the container with equal width and although it fixes the problem in Firefox, IE7 now displays a white rectangle even when there is no file on display.
Giving the container an 'auto width' or similar did not work, this resulted in only part of files such as PDFs and docs being displayed.
I would appreciate any tips/advice as to how to deal with this problem. Please forgive me if I am not being clear enough, I find articulating these problems as hard as solving them.

What container are you using? You only mentioned the Literal control, but that doesn't produce any html code at all for itself.

When i m Building My ASP .NET application on VS 2005 it works fine i mean it generates the DLL after compilation but ..while compiling the asp .NEt solution file using nant builder it wont generates the required DLL ...
Can anyone will tell me how to run ASP .NET application using NANT script.
Ihave nant-0.85 and web deployement project installed on my PC......
But I dont know how to compile asp net sln file in nant using ASPNET_compiler.exe
I m using the following command in nant builder that doesnt work:

H!, I am trying to pring a web page (snapshot page) it contains number of datagrids , I am trying to pring through javascript(window.print) while printing the page, first line of every new page is getting missed/first line of every page is not coming properly(when the page break comes).Please provide me the solution for this.

on compiling it from nant i got an warning:
Cannot find any assemblies that can be merged in the application bin folder.
i think this code is having some problem:

but when i m compiling the asp .net solution from VS 2005 it compiles fine and creates the dll at the target location...

I am doing an application in which i want to display a % symbol if the textbox losses its focus.
For eg; The Marks textbox and Percentage textbox are there...
When i press tab button, from percentage textbox after entering the value it should display the value with a percentage symbol.
I dont know how to implement this....

Which bit is confusing you ? Do you know how to write any javascript at all ?
you need to write the client side Ids of your textboxes as javascript variables, so you can find the controls with document.getElementById

Your best bit is to pass the object itself into the method that is called by the blur event, then you never have to look it up at all.

I recommend buying a book on Javascript. The one from O'Reilly is excellent.
You do something like
onblur="PutPercetageOnTheEnd(this")
in the text box. this is then the text control, you can get it's value property, set a % on the end and put it back.

Hi everyone
I am developing software for a hotel and I need to find a way printing receipts s of payment after a guest has paid their rent. How can this be done? I am storing all the information pertaining to the payments in a table in the database. Can I use crystal reports for this. What are the options?

You could also consider SQL Server Reporting Services[^]. It's free, although you need to install SQL Server to use it. Reports are relatively easy to develop and there are plenty of resources on the web that demonstrate how to use it.

hi,
i got a task that requires a user control-gridview that is used to insert data, the rows must be created by either an EnterKey or Tab key hit this should not create a post back since it will erase previous data so i was told to create using ajax.also this user control is used in different webpages so the number of column should be dynamically taken
