hi
I have some forms and these forms are actually related. what i want to do is that in form2 ,i want to access and modify the contents of the text boxes in form1, while i am still in form2. how can i do this ? do i have to declare them all as Public shared in from1.

Now, you can use m_f to refer to form1
in Form1

This was brought up yesterday.
You do NOT modify the controls on Form1 from Form2. Form2 shouldn't know anything about Form1, nor should it care. All it should care about is the data that it's supposed to manipulate.
If you're showing Form2 using ShowDialog(), then Form1 creates an instance of Form2 and waits for Form2 to be dismissed. Form2 exposes any data that it should as public properties or as some data object. Form1, when it gets control back, looks at the data in Form2 properties or in the data object that it modified and then modifies its own controls accordingly.

i searched alot about how to print datagrid and all i get was alot of code and classes .
i have a populated datagrid
all i want is to print the datagrid as its , i don't want to manipulate the cells size or fonts or any thing ..... just print it completly
note : i had tried to print it but the printed part was the monitor showing part ... i need to print it completly

i have made this statement

then he has display all the results in datagride
in this datagride there is some names "mark" and there is some names "marko"
what i need is to select all these records to edit them and from textbox we can write marko for all current records to edit all these names
how can i do that

try to check the value of your txtbox... maybe it is getting a null string or space that is why your database is returning all the data...

I m trying to make an application which is connected with more than one database and its depend on user that user may have any name so I create a database name is blank in bin --> debug folder when user make a new colony database. It copy from the existing database which have already same tables query etc.

You could simply use the following:
Dim strSQL as STring
strSQL = "SELECT * FROM Persons WHERE FirstName LIKE '%" & TextBox1.Text & "%'"
...
But this is not a secure way, SQL Injection could be possible here!

Hi, I get the error message '(' expected on the line Dim _buf As Byte() = CByte.parse(_cmd.ExecuteScalar()) . I also get the error message saying that _buf is undefined on the line Response.BinaryWrite(_buf)in the following code.

I tried enclosing _cmd.ExecuteScalar() with one more ellipsis but that didn't help. I also tried changing Dim _buf As Byte() to

I see several problems with this code snippet:
"select logo from" + " pub_info where pub_id='" + id + "'" Why are you concatenating "select logo from" and " pub_info where pub_id=" ??
This is a better approach:
string.Format("select logo from pub_info where pub_id='{0}'", id) Only one string is declared and no concatenation takes place.
CByte() attempts a conversion from something to a Byte, not an array of bytes. If the scaler execution is returning an array of bytes then with option strict off you should be able to just assign it. If you want to program decently and switch option strict on then the following would assign it:
Dim _buf As Byte() = DirectCast(_cmd.ExecuteScaler(), Byte()) If you get an invalid type / cast exception then the result of the query is not a byte array.
Finally I see a Finally clause in use to close the connection, which is great. But why is there an empty Catch ? It's not needed.
