Why are you doing all this inside a picture box instead of a paint handler ?

i have preloaded images (jpg files) which are layouts of different locations. the user will mark positions on the image and associate some values with the marked position. After marking the locations he want to take the printout with the marked locations.
This is the requirement. Can any one can help me??

OK, so why use a picture box ? Why not just draw it yourself and let the existing printing framework print it from there ?

Hi Graus,
the layout images are external jpg files. (eg: Layout of a building). I am loading the same to picture box initially and user can mark locations on them. Then he want to take the print out of the image along with the marked locations.
It would be fine if you can help me for creating .Net c# code for the code found in the following link.

Thanks

Hi,
I typically use a Panel to do such things.
Graphics.DrawImage would show the image, Graphics.DrawString would add some text, etc
(all inside the paint handler).
And then printing would print exactly the same things, since it too calls the
paint handler.

Hallo NG,
I have a VB6 ActiveX DLL which is calling a Method of my C# Application. One Parameter of this method is defined as Object.
void Foo (ref Object obj)
In special cases the parameter obj contains an two dimensional array of integers. I need to change the values in this array before I return the control to the VB6 DLL.
The problem is that I can change the values in the array in the C# part, but when the control comes back to the VB6 Dll the array contains just values of zero.
I think it is a marshalling issue, but I don`t know how to solve it.
Maybe somebody has an idea.
Here is the Interop Assambly part:
.custom instance void [mscorlib]System.Runtime.InteropServices.TypeLibTypeAttribute::.ctor(int16) = ( 01 00 D0 10 00 00 )
.method public hidebysig newslot abstract virtual
instance void gNotify([in] class srvUIConst.UIInterfaceClass marshal( interface ) oNotify,
[in] int32 lMSG,
[in][out] int32& lParam,
[in][out][opt] object& marshal( struct) vParam) runtime managed
The parameter I was writing about is the last parameter (vParam).
Thanks in advance.
Regards Martin

Hi,
I have made an application in C# which captures data from ListView control.when i test this application, for some ListViews it gives correct data but for some it crashes the other application whose data i try to retrieved.
I have read somewhere that if ListView control is owner driven then i wont be able to get that data,i dont know whether that is owner driven or not
if that is owner driven then can anybody knows the solution or if there is any other problem then please guide me.
Thank you.

If it's owner drawn, then you have no idea where the data is stored, and there's not much you can do.

You will find that you want to use layers of abstraction for this sort of thing. In this case, you want to use DirectX. Your code will not care that the device is PCI, it could as well be USB.

Once again, I find myself reiterating my answer. You need to download the DirectX SDK and look at the samples in there for working with video. There are many samples on Code Project, probably better than the SDK ones.

Thank Chistian Graus
I did try with DirectShow but it do not looking for my device.
DsDevice[] capDevices;
// Get the collection of video devices
capDevices = DsDevice.GetDevicesOfCat( FilterCategory.VideoInputDevice );
Let for me any sample also it.
Thanks, Again.

Is it possible to conduct unit tests for interfaces in ,net framework other than constructors, classes, methods? i would appreciate if anyone can provide a clue to me.
|
|
|
|
|
What do you mean by "unit tests for interfaces"?
Interfaces, by their very nature, will not have concrete implementations - so what are you going to test?
Cheers,
Vikram.

great answer. I am not sure if the topic is user interface or interfaces. Wow it is easy to get it confusing.
|
|
|
|
|
I am assuming you are discussing the unit testing of the user interface of an application web or winform. There are open source and commercial products which address this however they are not as complete as one would hope. For the last two years I have been using the MVP pattern which allows me to provide a richer level of unit testing for the controls on the user interface.
Martin Fowler
Previous to this I used the MVC pattern which provides much of the same benifits. I have used the open source asp.net and win forms unit testing tools but they are difficult to get the level of results I was looking for.

I'm working with two dataSets, one I used the VSC#Express wizards and editors to make the tables, tableAdapter, and bindingSet, and the other i just used the wizard to make the dataset, and am making my own tables via code. The second uses no table adapter or binding set. The first will save it's data to disk when the program exits, while the second doesn't. With the second, I am calling AcceptChanges() on the dataSet each time I change a table or row, and while the program is running i can retrieve the data just fine. But I can't get it back next time i run the program. Any help would be appreciated.
