Hello all,
My pb is to play an mp3 file in a csharp form using windows media player.
I have a form, in it i have put wmp (which is good for my program).
I can play my mp3s in wmp but only if i specify the path of where the mp3s are located.
windowsmediaplayer.Url = @"c:/my documents/...
My pb is to include the mp3s in the resource of my app. When i try to include them in the sound resources the mp3s are converted to .bin files and they won't play as they are no more sound files but .bin files.
How can i include them in the resources and what code do i write to play them from wmp ?
I don't want to use : windowsmediaplayer.Url = @"c:/my documents/... anymore.

Hi,
Can I use DBType.XML in .net 2.0 to pass xml string to a stored procedure in sql server 2000 ?
It's just that I know sql 2000 does not have xml type. If this is true then how is it possible to pass very large xml string to a stored procedure parameter? Remember that the xml strings may be more than 10000 characters.
At present, using .net 2.0, I am passing xml string using DbType.AnsiString with length of 50,000 and the stored procedure parameters that accepts the xmlstring is of type text.
I tried using DbType.XML in .net 2.0 but noticed that sql 2000 does not accept it.
Do you also know the max length of AnsiString?
Your thoughts please?

DbType.Xml is new for SQL 05, not supported by anything previous. I don't know the max length for AnsiString, but the SQL TEXT data type can store up to 2GB.

What datatype do you recommend to use from .net 2.0 in my case.

AnsiString maps to VARCHAR or TEXT in SQL Server, while String maps to NVARCHAR and NTEXT. The latter of which requires twice as much space to store data. So unless you really need unicode data I'd stick w/ AnsiString as you are currently using.

I get an "http/1.0 425 http Error" when i try the create a web service using Visual Studio 2003. I have IIS installed and started.
I go to File -> New-> Projects->C# Projects - > ASP.NET web service.
I click 'ok', then i get the above error. Researched it on the web but cannot find a solution get beyond this point.
Anyone know about this?

I feel that this is WinGate message. Can you bypass proxy in IE and test?

We use WinProxy. I was able to bypass it and am still able to get on the web.
However, that still did not allow me to successfully create a web service.
The exact message that i get from VS 2003 is :
The web server reported the following error when trying to create or open the web project located at the following URL: "http://localhost/WebService1". "http/1.0 425 http error"

Tools -> Internet Options -> Bypass proxy for local addresses
Additionally, you can specify localhost etc. in the Advanced Textbox.

Hy,
I'm new to "The Code Project" and i got a big problem with my application.
I'm trying to view an Overlay in DX Games. The OverlayManager.cs is from
an other website its freeware and didn't work for nvidia Graphiccards.
I thougth it is because of the Pixelformats anyway the Overlay is displayed
and redrawn exactly 393 times with this 480x320px size. If i make the overlay
smaller (160x160 for example) its redrawn more times. My question is: Why?
Why does it redraw only 393 times and ends up with E_NOTIMPL??

Most likely, you're leaking some GDI resource and after that many redraws, there's nothing left to draw with.

Hi, I'm not sure where this questions belongs, so I posted it in the C# and C++ boards.
My goal is to create a C# COM Object that will act be a source for an unmanaged C++ sink. I followed the guide that I found at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/313891 to create the C# object, but I was unable to get callbacks from the resulting .NET component with my C++ client. I have found that I can get the C++ client to work if I have a "SetCallbackFunction( IntPtr callbackFunctionPointer )" method in the C# code, but this solution is not acceptable for my project. Is there any way that I can get events working correctly using the technique described in the link I provided earlier? If not, is there any way to fire an event in C# and have the C++ handle it without a set function method? I'm used to the ConnectionPoint stuff for COM objects, but that doesn't seem to apply here. Thanks for the help.

I do not pretend to know, but I believe you should not try to deviate from the SetCallbackFunction guidelines. Because this is the intended vehicle, I would anticipate that just about anything else you might try to do will still be relegated to having to pass through a SetCallbackFunction portal. If not, you would find alternative methods documented -- assuming the ludicrous of course... that things will be so plainly documented.
Breaking intended patterns doesn't often work. Usually instead (if practice needs to depart from a pattern), they need shored up to work well, or even to accomplish what is intended of them.
Parts of your question lean toward writing the whole thing in C++. It is not clear why you wanting to use C#, or if this is the place to interface between what you can do in the different languages.

i am working on a software... the main purpose is to capture audio and video then send them through network using UDP protocol then the receiver preview it ... so it is a live capture...
i really need the source code .in C# is better. i have searched the articles but found nothing pleas i am running out of time

If this is your work, you should never take on a job unless you know how to do it, or what resources you need to do it.
If this is school work, your class will have given you all the information you need.
Audio/Video capture happens using DirectX. I know for a fact there are many resources on this site in this regard. Sending information through a network connection should not be difficult, and playing video on the other end is trivial.
No-one here is going to write your project for you, if it's due now, you should have realised sooner that you were stuck, and asked questions to help you get the info you need to do your own work.

i am just asking if some one already did what i am looking for as i said i am running out of time cuz i have a lot of other works to do...
how ever Audio/Video using DirectX ,i have already take it from an article witch is working properly and Sending information through a network connection is really pace of cake ... but the problem as i figured out that DirectX can not deal with network connection so there must be another source.

So how is passing off someone elses work as your own going to help? What are you going to do when the code breaks and you have no idea how it works?
