And put a validation for that textbox. If the user types wrong format notify the user before submitting. Smith 16-Feb-07 6:29  A date object is standard the non standard piece of it is the format that you save it to the string as. If you put dd.MM.yyyy into a date object it will see it as MM/dd/yyyy hh:mm:ss no matter what so when you compare date to date it looks at that piece. That is why it is better to compare a date to a date instead of a string date to a string date because then you have to worry about yyyyMMdd = MM/dd/yyyy. But when i click it it is causing a postback and the popup window is opening. I need to open the popup window without causing the postback.
