2)- VS 2003 VB(asp.net)
3) sql 2000 server
what the VB code that i can use it to display and print report within web app

To make an entry of your application you first need to make an entry in Registry.
To make an entry in registry follow these steps:
1. In the run command of windows type RegEdit.
2. In the screen go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SYSTEM -> CURRENTCONTROLSET -> SERVICES ->
EVENTLOG -> APPLICATION
3. Right click on the Application and Then New -> Key
4. Then give the name of your key which you want to use in your application (ie. abcd).
5. Then click on the key you have just created (abcd).
6. In the right hand side pane right click and then New -> StringValue
7. give the name of the string value as "EventMessageFile" (without double quotes).
8. Then double click on the String value and paste this path in ValueData:
"C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\EventLogMessages.dll" (without double quotes").
Bingo :-> !!! now you can use the key name in your application to log the errors in eventviewer.

The effect I am after is to squash just one edge of a photo to make it look like its going off into the distance - this isn't a straight skew. So the corners would be going clockwise from top left

Any help would be great - its driving me mad search the web for a solution to this. I figure its either sooooo simple no one has ever had to ask before or its sooo complicated no one has worked out how to do it yet

Hi everyone
I've tried to write a very simple mail client using ASP.NET 2.0 but i have a problem.I installed a free SMTP server tool on my computer (laptop) and it worked if i use Internet connection at my company.However i can not send any email at home.I use another ISP at home.I dont understand whether ISP concern?i turned off the free SMTP server and use SMTP virtual server of IIS then it did not generate any error but i can not received any email even in bulk.By the way can anyone tell me how to use SMTP server of Gmail?Thanks in advanced

I am trying to create a simple control that inherits from class CompositeControl. There are 3 controls: a checkbox, a third party datepicker and a validator. The idea is to require the user to select a date if the user causes the checkbox to be checked. If the checkbox is not checked then the code clears the datepicker.
The problem I am running into is with the id given to the datepicker. I named it "DatePicker" and if I call the composite control "Composite" on the Web form then when I run without the validator I can see from the source that on the client side the control is given an id of "Composite_DatePicker".
If I add the validator and point it to "Composite_DatePicker" I get an error message saying that there is no control called "Composite_DatePicker". How do I get around this?

Have you set the Id property of all the controls.
And make sure you call the method EnsureChildControls() before any validation or condition.
And write all the code for creating the control in CreateChildControls() method.

I am using PUSH method to view data by crystal report. but i trying to export data in any format (i.e PDF) then i m getting error .. Logon fail

I am confused that in case of asp.net application, why we manage different projects in a same solution . Even classes, Events and properties can be defined in the same project, so why we create it in a seprate project and make common namespace for whole solution.
for eg.--->
In asp.net application--> few classes in one project --> few classes in another project --> in the same solution--> in the same namespace.

Because professionally written applications seperate the middle tier from the presentation layer, and the data layer is a seperate abstraction again.

Can i want to use treeview in asp.net 1.1 .But treeview control does not exist in asp.net 1.1. I am getting the dll from the websites but it is for trial period only.
Please help.

I'm not sure what you want here. There is no treeview in 1.1, there are components you can buy, until you pay, they only give you a trial. There may be free ones, you need to look and see.

Hi,
I want to secure my application, so that user may not type the name of a page in the browser and go to certian page.
And also that there is some history stored in the browser, so user should not use that history (eventually which is auto fill also) to go to a certain page using those old querystrings.
can you please suggest me a way out.!!

You can write your app so it always posts to the same URL, and displays different controls/pages based on viewstate, so there is also nothing on the URL.

Im using asp 2.0 and I want to use thier new postback methods to populate dropdowns without postbacks. When a user selects a value from one dropdown, it repopulates the other dropdown. Can i have some help and ideas on how best to achieve this?
