Hello everyone!
fwrite((const short*)VER_STR1, 2, 1, file);
VER_STR1 is a #defined constant, so I can't use & after the cast to const short*, and this is C, so I can't use reinterpret_cast<> either... How do I pass just a little 2-byte short to the function? Thanks!
Windows Calculator told me I will die at 28.

if its something like
#define VER_STR1 12
Then in effect you have
fwrite((const short*)12, 2, 1, file);
Which means write the short value stored at memory location 12 which will never work. I dont think you can get the address of a literal.
You'll need something like
const short temp = VER_STR1;
fwrite(&temp, 2, 1, file);

how to declare object for wrapper class in consol based application.
Is it the same :
classname object;
or some other way

I don't see why it would be different, assuming you're using the same compiler and language...

Nope, sorry... Unless you want to design your own menus out of characters, with pdcurses[^] or something...

You can hide instead of deleting it using ShowWindow(SW_HIDE). Just a suggestion.

Is it possible to read the data from a file to an object using ReadFile?

when u use the ZeroMemory() funtion, the m_pchData member in the CString becomes NULL.
but CString was unaware of this change. when trying to copy the new data( in the statement pUser->strName = name;) it causes error.
So dont use ZeroMemory for class/structure that have another class as member.

i have created a load button in my program to load an image... after i've load the picture(in *bmp format), how do i encrypt it then save it back into the file? i want to do a simple a XOR logic encryption... i'm using Visual C++ 6.0

You can do it with the bitmap bits.
This may help you[^] but it's dealing with files. you can do the encryption with the bitmap bits you are writing. and do the reverse on loading the file. after reversing, display it.

hey all,
In my code, when I try building my application,
I get this error:
ProgtestDlg.obj:error LNK2005: "unsigned char * Rec_Buffer" (?Rec_Buffer@@3PAEA) already defined in Progtest.obj
But I have define in only one place and thats in Definitons.h nad have included this header file in ProgtesDlg.h
I havent declared this function anywhere. what s wrong? can anyone help please?
