Hi
I have a problem with disabling a button.
When i need to disable a button then i do not want the DrawImageDisabled function to be called. Instead i just need it to be replaced with the image i provide. How can this be handled?
Please help me out in this.

Maybe, when the event is triggered to disable it, replace the image with the one you want, and then put an if() clause in the OnClick event to say if the image is X (or a bool you have attatched to it) then do this, otherwise break.

Create your own button control, inheriting from the original Button class. Override the drawing code and supply your own to draw the correct image you want.

As you guys know Dynamic Link Libraries created in visual studio .NET can be decrypted, oooh my goodness. How can it be encrypted?
Dotfuscator can do somethings, but when u encrypt your class with it,all the members of your class rename to letters and furthur useness would be horrible.

Someone told me that with .Net 2.0 its possible to compile to native code. But I don't know if he his correct. I didn't found a way to, yet.
So if anybody knows, I'm interested in, too.

No, it's not. Well, only if you're writing in unmanaged C++. Managed C++ compiles to a combination of native and managed code.
There are tools out there that will compile down to Native code, but they cost a bloody fortune to buy.
There is no way to encrypt the .DLL and still have it work, other than obfuscation. No matter what you do, the .DLL must be decrypted to use, even if it's done in memory. At that point, you're entire encryption scheme just defeated itself.

even in .Net 1.0 you can use NGen to compile a .Net dll to native code. This has to happen on the target machine however, since Ngen will optimize for the processor it finds, and installs the resulting image in the native image cache. Your installer script could Ngen normal dlls in a temporary location, then delete the uncompliled dlls...

But that, of course, means that the source MSIL files would have to be on the installation CD's too!  You could easily stop the installer from deleting the files just by modifying the permissions on the TEMP folders.

Well I found a software which allows to convert .Net projects to native code. It's called .Net Reactor[^]
I tried it. The code is encrypted afterwards. Reflector isn't able to disassemble it.

i have a textbox that i type date in it like this :

this value i am sending into a DateTime object like this :
DateTime dateToPut;
dateToPut=DateTime.Parse(tbDateToPut.Text);
after the value is insert to the obj i am sending him to a datagrid cell
the problem is that the date is showing like this in the grid :
01/10/05
m,d,yy
how can i repiaer it ?

Specify a date format.
dateToPut=DateTime.ParseExact(tbDateToPut.Text, "dd/MM/yy", CultureInfo.GetCultureInfo("he-IL"));

I want to create a calander tool which will allow user to create a message on a date when you click it on calander and when the day appears, I want it to play a alarm and display message in a Message box with OK button on it.
I also would like a USer.ini config to be generated to save the information so its not lost when the application is exited. Finally I want the user to be able to set the application to it loads up when windows starts. How would you do this?

I am currently designing a Application in C#.net 2003 that will have a lot of features in it. It looks a bit like the desktop of Windows Blackcomb and it has many features of a mini- operating system.How would I:
1) How would you get a button to link to the Recycle bin? or My computer?
2) on the information part, I have written a properties tab. I have three text boxes. I want the first one: txtBx1 to show the amount of RAM that the application is using while running and TxtBx2 to show the amount of Free RAM and TxtBx3 to show how much Space the Application takes up on disk and the Location of where the application is stored like:
Finally I made a way to change the background on Main Screen (Like wallpaper on desktop)and I made a Calander which has settings to save imoprtant day notes. How would I generate a .ini config file so when the application is closed, you don't loose the settings?

Not sure about the Recycle Bin - there is probably an API for it. You can access many of the special folders with System.Environment.GetFolderPath()[^]

.ini files? How very Windows 3.1 - You might better consider an XML file, for which there is plenty of documentation.

I am using Byte array which I want to Convert to a string
I think that I can't use the GetString function , since the array holds zeros in it
Is there any other function I can use ?

Is the byte array based on Unicode/ASCII characters, or is it just an array that you want to store as text?
If you just want to convert the byte array into a storable string (and then convert it back afterwards), try Convert.ToBase64String() to change them into a string, and Convert.FromBase64String() to change them back. The MSDN article for the former is here[^]
If the array is based on characters in text, then you can use the System.Text.Encoding.Unicode.GetString() method (or ASCII if you replace the relevant word).

Hi All
I want to creat a control which displays time in "hr:min AM/PM". If I click on the value the mouse control will go to "hr", "min" or "AM/PM" respectively. I want to add updown control to change the value of "hr", "min" and "AM/PM".
Can anyone suggest me how can I do it? Thanks in advance.

You should use a label or (if the user can enter the time via keyboard) a textbox for every part of the time: hr, min, am/pm
When you got a click you should remember what have been clicked. If the Up/Down Control is clicked you should read the value of the element, change it and then write it back like:

int hours = Convert.ToInt32(txtHour.Text);
hours++;
if (hours > 12) {

}
txtHour.Text = hours.ToString();
}
...

You should give us a little more points. When I read your question, I would say: "Press the send button!"
What does the application? Is an error thrown? Do you get contact to the server? Have you implemented the sending of the eMail?

Ok here's the error
I am making a chat client. The user has to open a new windows for each client he wants to talk to. So if he clicks the button

I use that and it works. But I also want the program to open a window when it receives data from a client who's window is not opened(just like Yahoo Messenger).

Did you put a breakpoint and step through the part where it gives you problems?
If you can find out which line breaks your code, it might be easier to fix it.
