Hi,
In my app i need do draw a icon on a specific place(each time
on a different place).

I added the icon to my resources(it's ID is IDI_Target_ICON)
and I'm using this code(I want to display the targets on a thread) :

how can i get a color of control. What is its a radient color. What is returned, a HBRUSH or COLORREF ? ... Can some1 guide me ??

What part of what control are you interested in? Some controls have text, some do not. Some have borders, some do not. For starters, there's GetBkColor().

I wanted to get Color of a Dialog and set it a toolbar. I am able to get the color of dialog. How can I get color of other controls. Is there some generic way where I can get background color of control. What if the color is gradient. and wat about if it has bitmap as its background.

One other thing, How can then I set a background color of a toolbar, to be more specific. I have achieved to change bg color of static label but I am, not able to do it with toolbar. Any help ?

This almost sounds like "skinning." Since that technology is all about painting the various parts of a window, I'd suggest a thorough reading of it.

Friends,
I usually develop 'ActiveX controls' using "MFC ActiveX Wizard". In the past, i simply develop ActiveX control and distribute it along with the client side application.

This time i am in different situation. As usual, i developed a control and distribute it with my client application. But now i've enhanced the same control. I've added some new interfaces and not touched the previous interfaces. I came to know from somewhere that there is a method of proper versioning of ActiveX controls and COM components. And i am required to 'increase' the version of my activeX control before distributing it.

Can anyone tell me how to control the version of those 'ActiveX controls' which evolve with the passage of time. Also tell me the method to do so in MFC ActiveX controls.

Hi,

I am upgrading my application to use V.C 7.1 compiler version. AT present it is using 6.0 compiler.
The problem i am facing is use of File stream.
My req is to share same open file with filebuff and fsrteam object
Please find the code snippet below
Compiler is not recognizing .fd()
Error is in this line int fdesc = v_AppFile.fd();

I am looking at putting an ActiveX object on a web page for some speicalist work, just wondered if anyone had experience with this and suggestions.
It will display some dialogue boxes etc.

You can use MoveWindow[^] any time after the base class' OnInitDialog has been called.

Dear Friends,
This question is related to MS-Word automation. I want to find some statistics related to the opened word document. I've already found two statistics like count of total words and count of total characters using various word-automation interfaces.

I found some statistics indirectly, for example i wanted to calculate total number of characters in Bold in my document. There is no such support directly provided in MS-Word and automation functions. However i used "Find Dialog Box" and WildCharacters property to get the total count of these characters.

So far so good. Now i want to find some other statistics but i am struggling to find out and i require your help. I want to find the total number of:

--Bullets in my document
--Fonts used in my document
--Font sizes used in my document

Can anyone tell me that how can i computee these values via directly using Word or by automation.

Hi, how can i draw an icon next to the edit control in a combo box? Ive successfully managed to draw a list icons in the listbox, but now i want to draw the icon that the user selected next to the text in the edit box.

Ive obtained the edit box by attaching to it in the OnCtlColor() message of the combo box.

Hi!
I have written a small system-wide hook dll in vc++ 6, I would like to generate from the Ctrl key an ALT key.

HOW can I from a wm_keydown message a WM_SYSKEYDOWN message generate?
Because the alt key is a special key..

if the ctrl was pressed down -> in the spy the wm_syskeydown msg. to be seen,
if ctrl is repeated ->wm_syskeydown,
if ctrl is released -> wm_syskeyup to be seen

AND the Ctrl+A to became an Alt+A event.

I am making a tool to monitor system's hardwares, softwares and internet activities by user.

In this way I have completed Software & hardware portion now I have been stucked in Internet activities part.

So please anybody can tell me that How can I monitor Emails sent & recieved, Files downloaded.

Better if provide some samples to do this.

I would think you'd need to monitor ports 25 (SMTP), 110 (POP3), 80 (HTTP), and 21 (FTP). These are default values for a particular service, however. I know there is a way to find out which port is associated with a particular service but the name escapes me.

Your main thread exits as soon as it has created the second thread, so probably it destroys the second thread.
