Started this morning, created a new basic class, added IEnumerable<T> to it, implemented teh required interface methods via VS, added tiny fragment of code to each method:

public IEnumerator<int> GetEnumerator()
    {
    for (int i = Min; i <= Max; i++)
        {
        yield return i;
        }
    }

IEnumerator IEnumerable.GetEnumerator()
    {
    return this.GetEnumerator();
    }

And tested it.

It works: foreach and Linq all work perfectly.

Why was it a problem? Because I added IEnumerable to the class first yesterday, and that confuses the issue when you try to add IEnumerable<T> later ...

Now I can rip out all the enumeration code from the "real" classes and do the job simply.

Sometimes, I get too focussed on what I am doing to see the wood for the trees ... or I'm an idiot. Both, possibly. Sigh | :sigh:

I seem to solve my most challenging problems right after a good night sleep. What is weird is that the answer is revealed to me at the exact moment I start to wake up, but I am still not fully awake yet.

I also read, and believe, that a great deal of medical issues that affect us are due to a continual lack of effective, restorative sleep.

Last working day of 2021... I've got this issue I want to fix before my Christmas break.
Hours of debugging, but nothing.
It's something I've done countless of times before, send a file from an HTML form to my back-end, doesn't work.
Checked my code, my types, my inputs, went back to square one, copy/pasted code where I'm already doing it, nothing seemed to work...
Decided to give up, enjoy my vacation and fix it in 2022.

Januari 3rd, I hadn't thought about the problem for two weeks.
I start up my laptop, go into the code and almost mindlessly add enctype="multipart/form-data" to the form element.
Problem solved in < 1 minute Sigh | :sigh:

I used to keep a notepad on the table next to the bed so when I woke in the middle of the night with an idea I could write it down so I wouldn't lose it.

Similarly, I left yesterday with a customer reporting a tiny discrepancy (.00005%) between reports on a generated value. I initially wrote if off to rounding issue (a report(s) issue) but couldn't find the problem immediately. As I was stepping through code getting into the raw sql queries, I was called to supper. As I'm eating, I'm visualizing the query results and something seems off but I can't quite put my finger on it. Sleepy | :zzz:

Fast forward to this morning reading the paper and it hits me...why are they including 03's? Confused | :confused:

Sure enough, 48 of 50 sites include the 03's which should have been defaulted off for this customer. It's a rare thing to happen, (first time noted in 20+ years that I'm currently aware of) and likely only an issue for this one customer who dared to go against the grain, but you never know. The quick fix was passed on to the client and the application was corrected to do a better job figuring out how to handle missing (or default) records. (a self-adjusting default of sorts) I have the luxury of an end user providing sample reports with discrepancies marked, and competent enough to follow instructions on posting her database. Good ~~testers~~ users and good support tools are a blessing! Smile | :)

Yes,

The clue was not up to the Ximenean standard, I think Ximenean clues are too easy. They last less than 15 minutes sometimes here in the forum. I am beginning to like the more difficult puzzles with vague wordplay. Smile | :)

Yes, so did I; then deconstructing the first part to make it all fit. Initially I couldn't make head nor tail of it, went off to do something else; when "up the components" suddenly jumped out at me.
