You can find most of the rest of the books in electronic form on Baen Publishing's site, all except the first. Apparently that was published under a separate license.

Thank you! I bookmarked the site. Looks amazing.

The Gateway series is one of those I've read and reread so often that I now have to ration myself how often I go back to it. I have the same problem with C. J. Cherryh's Foreigner series and the Chanur Saga, as well as several books by Niven & Pournelle. This problem got so bad with Heinlein that I declared a moratorium on reading him. I have significant parts of The Moon Is A Harsh Mistress memorized; I've probably read it more than a couple dozen times.
Fortunately my problem's been better since my daughter got married. My son-in-law owns and operates the [shameless plug] Little Professor Book Center in Athens, Ohio (U.S.). I get lots of new authors and titles for my birthday, Christmas, and Father's Day.

I hope that you have read John Varley's "Steel Beach" - partially a tribute to The Moon is a... and a cracking tale to boot.
Varley's "Titan" trilogy is my most read series I suspect.
So old that I did my first coding in octal via switches on a DEC PDP 8

I've read a lot of Varley. I reread the Titan trilogy a few months ago.

Oh, I just stumbled upon this freebie on Amazon kindle too. Sci-fi from David Drake, Sea of Venus[^]

Nice! I just ordered a new Paper White. I no longer have my old one due to being lost in a move. I've been meaning to get a new one, but just haven't been inspired to get one until now.

Right. Definitely not the same. So much cheese in the that trailer.
Could barely watch the trailer, let alone the entire movie.

But the animated series is really good. Æon Flux[^]

Specs add sonic rush like clockwork. (11)
I may be a little slow responding to answers, heading into a Zoom meeting...
[clue] Pair of specs. I would have said "pair" in place of "specs" originally but I didn't want to exclude the cricket-challenged. [/clue]

Specs = oo (also a pair in cricket is two scores of 0 by the same player, same game)
Anagram of sonic rush + oo

... what would it be?
I'm struggling, between "opinionated" and "challenging". And, BTW, the 'rules', (that I'm just making up, right now!), state that you can't have catch-all, generic words. Otherwise, I could have just gone with "annoying".
Note. I'm not planning on dying any time soon - but I know, from bitter experience, that you never can predict what life will throw at you. Every morning, when I wake up, I say to myself: "result".

I'm not sure if acronyms is cheating, (and I made up the rules!), but I like these.
