An internal combustion engine is in part, a complicated air pump.
Bread is just raw toast
A webserver is a fancy string processing engine.

Sometimes it helps to look at things from a different perspective. In that last case for example, once I looked at my ISAPI applications that way (this was decades ago), I added Boehm's collector to garbage collect the strings and avoid heap fragmentation. It kept my apps from bogging after running for a few days.

Reapproach a problem. Look at it a different way. Get weird. It helps.

Going for lead guitar in an AC/DC cover band so I went and bought an American SG. The neck needs attention, some strings are muted when you bend them, but it's pretty nice. I have two USA guitars, a Tele and now this

I'll pay to get it set up properly, I'll take it in tomorrow. Same place has fixed two other guitars for me, I bought an Epiphone Les Paul and the bridge pickup didn't work, and I have an Ice man and the wiring just fell apart all of a sudden

I have 4 guitars, a Gibson Nighthawk (my favorite), an Ibanez Artist, a Gibson SG TV that I got in 1965 along with a Fender Twin amp for $400.00, and a Gibson EB0 bass.

The Twin is long gone, yes, I was an idiot. I traded a Fender Mustang for the bass at a guitar show. Frown | :(

I played in several different semi-pro cover bands, we got paid sometimes, starting in 1975. We did 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's rock, rhythm, and blues.

I would recommend to only use a luthier. DIY will never come out as good.

BTW: Your Amp and pedals have as much to do with your sound and playing style as the guitar.

Yeah, I have a wah and a tuner, I don't use pedals. I have a three channel boogie that slays all on it's own. In my last band the other guy had a little fender amp and some high tech digital all in one effect thing and I was like, what are you doing?

I had a boogie. I had to keep the volume at 1 to stop from blowing the rest of the band away.

I really liked it, but as I left the bands because of all of the "Drama", I sold it. I still play at home, though on a little practice amp.

I played bass/keys in a few 'garbage' cover bands in my 20s/30s. Nowadays, I'm relegated to playing basslines on an acoustic guitar that sits by the breakfast table for a half hour or so each morning. It's my favorite time of the day!...coffee and some good tunes to jam with. This morning was 'Triumph - Allied Forces', yesterday was 'Rush - Hemispheres'.

One of my best friends (a gifted guitarist in my last band) used to pop in from time to time to hash through various deep cuts from our favorite artists, mostly Rush and Iron Maiden. He has been incognito for the last 10 years, and that was one of his favs, so it was a personal test to see if I still remembered the important/attainable parts. Laugh | :laugh:
