I know a lot of you own power tools, so I'm pretty sure someone else here has run across this issue, and hopefully, found a solution.
Many power tools have a (usually black) rubbery insert in the handle for comfort and grip.
After a few years it starts to break down and gets sticky.
What can we do to avoid the ugly black stains I have on my hands?

If you don't care about it being rubbery you might try epoxy'ing it? A thin layer.

The funny thing is this happens on ferrari and maserati dash controls from the early aughts.
You can buy new ones, or you can sand them down and clear coat them.
Obviously that's not going to work with the rubber, but basically the problem is a similar one, and I imagine the solution would be similar. Rubber makes it tricky though. Could you coat it in a thin layer of leather or vinyl? Contact vinyl might work. You'd need a heat gun to work it into the contours but with some patience I bet it could work.
However, with the effort involved, depending on the tool it might be more time/cost effective to get a new one.

Usually, when I work with power tools, I have multi-coloured stains on my hands. Black ones doesn't bother me more than the rest. 
On a more serious note, conformal coating spray might work reasonably well. Never tried it though.

I've had this happen with as pair binocular with a 'rubber' coating and a rechargeable power pack.
What is it that these coatings/casing are may of that they break down after a number of years?
Is this deliberate built-in obsolescence or just they didn't think people would still be using their products after so many years?

Just curious so checked one of my drills that is at least 20 years old. Handle seems fine to me.
Maybe the key is to store it somewhere with a normal temp range (in the house.)

The Win10 bootcamp partition on my iMac became corrupted and no matter how many days win10 spin their little dots in the centre of the screen, it could not recover the partition. (macOS had no trouble reading any file it wanted to, though, so, ahem, Windows)
Anyway, I've switched to a DELL laptop for now and it refuses to let me install Win10. It says I can, but it won't. After each install it's surprise! Here's Windows 11! Isn't it great!!?
Anyway...
The emojis. What is going on with the Windows 11 emojis? I thought I was in Sesame Street. Or on Facebook 2010. They are startlingly ugly. A who-needs-a-second-coffee arresting.
I assume this is a design approved by the accessibility team (contrast, inclusivity, scaling, colours etc) which is all good, but I'm also guessing someone in the design team is still curled up in the foetal position, twitching slightly.

The entire Windows 11 UI is a step backwards from Windows 10.

I don't know. At least Microsoft's designers have rediscovered colors with Windows 11. Ignoring the higher resolution, the Win10 UI could be rendered on a 4-color CGA video card. Seriously, look at any of the Settings screens...blue, white, black, and...gray? And if MS had it its way, everything would look like that throughout. No thanks.
