I was sick of contacting travis-ci every month to force my credits for my builds to renew on a supposedly free service, so with a little help I migrated my stuff over to github's actions and it works like a charm.

I do use scripts, within the actions.
It not only builds when I check in, it runs my tests
and if they all pass, and my library version has been incremented then it publishes a new revision to the PlatformIO library repository.
Edit: The other nice thing about actions is every build/test cycle is run on a brand new install of everything, so it's clean. You don't get that with the method you're talking about.

So do I, using a batch file, and I get the results of that by mail every day.

No problem. You have to learn a little YAML to use it, but you can also control everything from anywhere you can log into github.
Also I'm finicky about my workflow, and prefer my IDE handle checkin for me. So for me, not having to run a batch file is a win, because I just go through the check in process, and github picks it up for me, compiles, tests, etc.
Also deploys it.
It's just nice to have everything at a click.

So, I claimed my name on FB few weeks ago to prevent abuse or scamming. Never used it, haven't logged in.

I've found FB to be of great use. It's put me in touch with long lost friends and coworkers and has allowed me to make new and lasting friendships with a few people who share my non-coding interests (music and model car collecting). I don't seem to be bombarded with irrelevant ads, and if I tire of seeing one, I just block it and that and similar ads never reappear. I don't participate in polls so rarely see them on my feed. I also use FB to promote (at no cost) one of my freeware apps.
I don't run the FB or FB Messenger apps and always logout of my FB account when I'm done using it, which is usually a couple of times a day. All in all, I'm very happy with FB.

The ads do not concern me; most of them do not load due to an up to date host file.

To spell it out; they do not track you just for ads, they insist on your phone number. And your GPS is on, right?

Well, I don't do FB or TW or such. I did, in a moment of ignorance, sign up for LinkedIn (sp?) many years ago when I joined a developers group. Cancelled my account, but still get emails and invites from them. Have not tried to sign in. I black listed them up on Comodo.
1. You can't win.

3. You can't get out of the game.
