Use the Snipping Tool which will soon be called Snip & Stretch.
It allows you to select the portion you want, without having the rest of the screen garbage.
It is also useful for snipping photos out of articles.

I don't know of the thread in question, but I always use ScreenToGif (which can also record to other formats, but if I'd like to put a recording on, eg, a Trello card, then a gif is mighty convenient)

I figured musically Do is C, and Re is D, so between them is either C sharp, or D flat. Neither helped!

I created a harder puzzle today, I was hoping the extraneous commas[^] would give a melodious hint. Regarding your question about Di, I added some music[^] to the puzzle.
