A while ago, I was surprised to discover that my salt was way beyond the "Best Before" date - actually, by a couple of years! Hey, NaCl is NaCl - that won't change over years, will it??
Sure, old NaCl might be clumping. If you put it into liquids, that is no problem. Or you might give the clump a knock or two, then it is fine.
Right now, my salt is again beyond the "Best before" date, and the box is still half full. And I bought a new box. But that one is for being dried thoroughly, and then vacuum sealed to be stored in my basement for emergency purposes. Call it "prepping" if you like; I think keeping a sealed kilogram of salt in you basement is within reasonable limits. Next time I need to buy NaCl, I will get the pack from the basement and buy a new one to seal an put down there.

Working from home, I wall barefoot. When I have to leave the house for some reason, I would have to know which weekday it is. Maybe just so I can put on the right socks.
Honestly: If I put on new socks just to walk out to empty the mailbox, or even for a 15 minute ride to the grocery store, and take the socks off as soon as I am back in the house, I do not throw them into the wash after two minutes, or fifteen minutes, of use since they were washed the last time. I know that this might come as a shock in some cultures; nevertheless: There is no need to wash a piece of cloth only because it has been used for a brief period of time. Even if the wearer has been sweating: A brief rinse in plain water, and then hanging up the cloth to dry, is enough. Even hanging the cloth to dry in an airy place, without rinsing, is a zillion times better than throwing into the dirty clothes hamper for the bacteria to develop!
Walk barefoot when possible! Otherwise: Wear sandals, without socks, where possible. Otherwise: Wear sandals where possible. Otherwise: Kick off your shoes where possible.

I've never been good at these, so I looked up synonyms for abyss, not containing the letters [c,h,i,p] and came up with vault - completely wrong/at a tangent to the expected answer - one could argue that vault is 'an answer' at a technical level, its just wrong/not what the author was thinking of

For a faulty USB device that keeps disconnecting and reconnecting. Having killed my keyboard it would not surprise me.
Found the source; I was playing a youtube video that simply included those sounds. On restart the browser reopens the tab and starts playing the sounds again.

Normally, she is only home 3-4 nights a week. Since this mess started, she is also working from home. Basically, I'm eating better than usual and have seen every episode of every show on HGTV. 
I'm also getting less work done after hours as she keeps adding to my honey-do list!
