But what is the goal? If the virus will always be around why put off normal behaviors? That's the part I don't understand.
It used to be 'flatten the curve" but we're way beyond that point and still some want to keep up the distancing.

Now we need to keep the curve flat.
One of the big problems is that the tests are still not accurate enough, and until there are at least more accurate tests, mingling is unwise. But you go right ahead.
