We lucked out, locally - only gusted into the 50's. Other spots, especially the NJ coast (visible from our beach) even reached 80+ mph gusts. Lucky, again, with blackouts - they were sprinkled rather liberally throughout the island (this islands 118 miles long[^]).
Never a complaint about ducking a bullet. So long ago, but Sandy left a really deep scar. You'd never know by looking how it was rebuilt (very many houses now raised 8' or more) - but when the hurricane season is here I can't help but wonder if the warmer waters of the Atlantic (these past few years) won't leave us - and all around us - with nothing.

Interesting article... somehow inspiring for the new generation of scammers... Conclusion: Whatever you do, do it big enough, once started to roll, it won't be stopped.
Hopefully there are some "lessons learned" effect on this. But I don't really expect it though.

My touchstone for all such "offers": if it sounds too good to be true, it is. Anything that "guarantees" returns much higher than the stock market is certain to be a scam.

I found that it's not that they can't it's just easier to delegate.

Get a ricer: Grunwerg Commercial Grade Ricer Jumbo Potato Press, 18/10 Stainless Steel, Silver, 32 x 14.5 x 32 cm: Amazon.co.uk: Kitchen & Home[^] is the one I use. It wastes a little potato, but it makes brilliant mash so, so easily! Just dump 'em in, squeeze it shut, add seasoning, butter, and milk then mix with a fork. Lumpless and smooth!

Amazing, that seems like a large version of a garlic press

Kind of, yes - its size helps with leverage so it's pretty easy to squeeze.

Worded thus:
"A person who cooks carrots and peas in the same pot is very unsanitary" was probably the first joke I ever heard - from my grandfather. I was too young to figure out exactly what it meant that was funny. Finally, very very very much older I recalled the prose and finally understood.

Likewise. It may have been in the list of jokes handed out to grandfathers when their grandchildren were born.
