It didn't help the spartans...

It's a cat, or nothing!

Well, of course a cat can _become_ a vegetable...

Well, I don't want to sacrifice my cat. Though a few spiders in the basement might do.

I recommend sacrificing a half pound or so of crispy bacon. Ingestion is the proper method of execution, of course.

Here too, but not software. Well repair guys are here to upgrade the aging well -- but something down the pipe is rusted too much to force it open -- so the recommendation (really) is to pour Coca Cola down the well twice a day for a week to attempt to dissolve the rust.
If the Coke doesn't work, then we are looking at a very expensive big dig... many thousands of dollars. Ugh.

Maybe lemon juice?
Then add some sugar later?
Don’t waste the lemonade on a bath!

I'm not designed for this weather - I was raised in Caernarfon N Wales, it is always raining/snowing there

Go inside... Turn on AC... Drink something cold...
(believe me, 42 isn't that bad - it is the humidity that kills you)

Most (all?) houses in the UK have heating, but not so many have air conditioning.

Even worse, I read that houses are designed to retain heat. I assume for the colder days.

I was raised further east in Flintshire. I do remember really cold winters, but also sea swimming even in October.

- Drink a lot, preferably stuff with electrolytes (sports drinks and such)
- Stay out of the sun as much as possible
- Avoid physical exercise in the heat
- Pour (cool) water over your head to cool it
- If your garden needs watering, do so at night; don't waste the water by evaporation

Durn, that's like Phoenix, Arizona hot.
I’ve given up trying to be calm. However, I am open to feeling slightly less agitated.

But then, 2 falls ago I put in a swimming pool in my back yard. Last summer was the coolest summer we'd had in Atlanta, Georgia in 30+ years. We normally get well over 30 days in the 90s (fahrenheit), last summer we had 4. I put in a pool heater this spring and we are back to our normal number of very hot days.
