BleepingComputer can confirm that Garmin has received the decryption key to recover their files encrypted in the WastedLocker Ransomware attack. I guess regular offsite backups weren't on their radar? (or GPS)

Offsite, but not apparently not offline.
That or the attacker waited until the last non-pwnd backup had be automatically deleted.

Great. So Garmin
a) has shown again that it can't do software
b) has helped legitimise ransomware attackers by showing that if you pay they will come through with the key. The whole "don't pay, you won't get your data back" argument no longer holds water.
