I don't know if there is extraterrestial intelligence (but I don't deny it either).
I only know that if they are really intelligent and have common sense they will get the hell out of here.
If they come... it is not going to end well, either for them or for us (most probably for us).

They get to prune data that may not be relevant anymore, and make themselves looks slightly, slightly, every so slightly less evil.

They have to set this (but the "good" news is that you can set to "only" 3 months).

To me, there is not much difference between "information" and "information marked as deleted". It is still information.

I don't think they are going to actually delete data. At least not as long as they can have some usage for it, another thing is obsolete or really irrelevant data. That's something they will probably delete gladly to (as Kent said above) reduce the amount to deal with and to try to look a bit "less evil"

Wen asked several times for a quick and easy way to install the most useful extensions, I said “sure, I’ll make an extension pack”. Because Visual Studio is never big enough

This new extension pack has two requirements:
Must only contain extensions relevant to all developers(Emphasis added)
Seems if that's the criteria, Visual Studio would have it. And thank goodness he included icons!

I can't remember the last time I created a file that it didn't make sense to go through the new file wizard for, or that wasn't created elsewhere and drag/dropped in. Not worth bloating context menus even farther for something I might use a few times/year.

Actually this is the first one I installed, it has a icons for a few file types I occasionally use that VS doesn't.
For 2-3 times/year, going to my browser is a small price to pay for less UI bloat.
Could be useful, second one I installed.
