I came across comments on a recent Reddit post and thought it would be intriguing to analyze the DLLs of Visual Studio 2022 (version 17.9.6) using NDepend. Come for the unlikely headline, stay for the interesting analysis of just what a house of wet, jagged cards we live in.
Well, interesting to me, of course.

A GitHub flaw, or possibly a design decision, is being abused by threat actors to distribute malware using URLs associated with a Microsoft repository, making the files appear trustworthy. What kind of world do we live in when you can't even trust a download from Microsoft to *only* have their flaws?
