Bill Gates and Steve Ballmer may have hated Linux, but new Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella says Microsoft loves Linux. What changed Microsoft's mind? It's a lot of help when planning new features?

May be they are trying to buy Linux and make it their own.

If something has a solution... Why do we have to worry about?. If it has no solution... For what reason do we have to worry about?
Help me to understand what I'm saying, and I'll explain it better to you

Microsoft has been experimenting with projectors for years, but HP is bringing a PC to life today complete with a built-in projector and multi-touch capacitive touch mat. Well, that's just what will save HP

With your operating system expressed as a relational database, you can run SQL queries to see how your OS is performing, troubleshoot issues and even discover malicious activity lurking about. How very WinFS of them

Microsoft’s desktop operating system rules the market. Over 90 percent of the world’s desktop and laptops are running some version of Windows. However, same can’t be said of Microsoft’s Windows Phone. So what exactly kept the company from being a leader in mobile space? At the Code/Mobile conference, Ray Ozzie had a few answers. By 'becoming relevant' apparently. Genius.

Is it even possible to assess competence in agile development with a test? You could easily apply this rant to any developer certification, me thinks
|
|

Simple. Prioritize the questions. Answer the first one. Evaluate how well you did on it. If you did well, repeat on the second, etc. If you did poorly, examine what caused the poor result, apply what you learned as you answer the second, etc.

A nice rant with good points.
But there is another reason for certification: if your employer sends you to a seminar, he wants you to learn something there - instead of hanging around and not caring about the seminar's objectives. Hence many employers prefer seminars with some kind of test. (Note: that was a statement in a public discussion by someone involved in the certification industry!)
