A paper by a team of astronomers is getting some notice because of aliens. Astronomers are looking into the idea that what they’ve found might be due to aliens.

Heretofore undocumented aliens?

Weird. Very weird.
What do you get when you cross a joke with a rhetorical question?
The metaphorical solid rear-end expulsions have impacted the metaphorical motorized bladed rotating air movement mechanism.
Do questions with multiple question marks annoy you???

When is the US Air force gonna invade?!

The Air Force doesn't invade until the Marines have deemed it safe for them.

Two military guys go into a restroom. One is in the Air Force and the other is a Marine. When they are done, the Air Force guy goes to the sink and starts to wash his hands, while the Marine starts to leave.
The Air Force guy yells to the Marine, “The Air Force teaches us to wash our hands.”
The Marine yells back, “The Marines teach us not to piss on ours!”

I've heard that one as Harvard and Yale before.

Aren't there aliens here itself? For example, me - if I come over to the US, I'm termed an alien. And, I've borne that nomenclature several times in my life.

It would be cool if it's an alien civilization constructing a Dyson sphere around their star.
|
|
|

Then, once their resources are depleted we can swoop in and colonize it.

Very cool, thanks for sharing. I wonder what SETI will pick up.

How anthropomorphic. As if aliens (or galaxies colliding) would smile (or even have the concept of smiling) as we humans do. And besides, smiling is actually a form of baring one's teeth, it's not necessarily a friendly thing!

There are several tools available that make using COBOL on modern computers as straightforward as using other programming languages. Three open source projects that help you code, compile, and use COBOL on a Mac, Linux, or Windows

Apple's Swift has been available for over a year now, and Apple has promised it will be made available under an Open-Source license by the end of 2015.
That's great, but could I run Swift code on an Android device today? The key is LLVM which generates assembly code for an imaginary machine, and then converts that intermediate representation to actual code
Thanks,

Now, a researcher who goes by the name Dark Purple has created a USB device that can permanently destroy much of a computer's innards, rendering the machine little more than an expensive doorstop. Within seconds of being plugged in, the USB stick delivers a negative 220-volt electric surge into the USB port. Remember kids, don't let strange USB drives into the house.

I built one of them at age 17 and used it to force a change of PCs at school. Officially they all died for natural causes... 40 PCs in a couple of weeks. The other 40 were easier: they had the 110V / 220V selector in bright red, plain sight. Some men just want to watch the world burn...
I came to know the school ordered 160 new PCs but didn't want to deploy them - years later I discovered that a professor was selling them privately.

When Apple rolled out Swift last summer, it expected its new programming language to eventually replace Objective-C, which developers have used for years to build iOS and Mac OS X apps. On TIOBE’s latest index, Objective-C is ranked fourteenth among programming languages, a considerable drop from its third-place spot in October 2014.
|
|
|
|
|
Who brought it to third-place? Now that they no longer need it so a lot of support is going toward Swift. 14th rank is because of the legacy programmers, legacy projects and so on, otherwise I haven't seen any discussion about Objective-C ever since I became a programmer, that is a very long time. Apple would not support Objective-C now that it has Swift in its hands.
